Spandrels that act like half walls &/or interior soffits

I love that we have half walls that come up from the floor, but it would be cool if we could have spandrels that are similar to half-walls/walls in that you can hang things on them and apply wall paint to them. I suppose it would be like ceiling mounted half walls.
This would be nice for creating bulkheads or soffits above cabinets. Allowing adjustment of height could make it so we could have pass-through windows.

I really like the pass-through window on the Full Disclosure Chef station and it would be nice to be able to re-create that somewhat.

I love that we have spandrels but it would be very cool to have more variety. I think I've only seen one CC spandrel thus far.

I suppose an alternative would be to have soffits that can be made inside hanging from the ceiling much the same way as walls/half walls. They can be drawn on the floor above the way basements can be done.
