It's sometimes a little startling just how much you can really accomplish with only 20K. And I find that I'm really liking this artsy-craftsy style, with the shallow roof slopes, very wide eaves and rugged materials. I recently completely rebuilt my main sim's house in this style (he's quite a bit beyond starter status now, so his budget is maybe a bit higher than 20K) and now I spend half my time just admiring the place instead of actually playing....
