Since the quarantine I've had a bit too much time on my hands and I've decided to work on making a save file. I'm trying to work through one section at a time, so right now I'm rebuilding the spice district in san myshuno. I will be making new sims and adding backstories as well, which I'm gonna write about more on my blog. I will be also improving the pre existing sims since EA is always lazy with establishing their skills and relationships.Right now I own every pack and when the new ones come out I will return and update any old builds to include objects from new packs.Currently complete: 18 Culpepper house 17 Culpepper house 19 Culpepper house 702 Zen ViewIf you have any ideas for the save file, like families, drama, build ideas/inspiration let me know below. I tend to struggle a bit more with community lots.

@gothiclolitapl This is such an interesting idea. Your builds so far look really nice. I'll be interested to see where you take this.

@mattiemayhem i will be adding a bunch of my own characters, but I did not want to get rid of the EA sims. If anything I think they have a lot of potential, but EA got lazy with them, so I will try and do them justice by giving them makeovers and adding relationships/skills.

However I won't be doing any of that until the end. i want to do all the building first so that I can release an 'empty' version of the save file to make it easier for people to fill it entirely with their own sims, and then work on the actual characters. I've got some stories written down and ideas for builds and such, but I'm waiting until new packs come out because i'd like to include the knitting pack in my community/arts centre etc.

i get you! the knitting pack would be a great addition. i saw a really cool idea about building saves is to theme the towns. think about who will use what and where that might fit. idk if ur gunna stick to the OG way ea has laid out it's buildings or how u like to play, but i like roleplay areas since ea doesnt have very much functionality with public spaces. so things like, trailer diners in oasis springs, ritsy movie theaters/opera centers in the get famous world, business centers for skill building in san myshuno, warehouse dance clubs, definitely some updated club locations in general for get together xD

I do want my save to have all the packs intertwined, which is why I'm waiting for the release of eco lifestyle to see what the new world will look like so I can take it into account when planning my builds. So far I planned out that I want there to be a restaurant in spice district that only serves spicy food. I want to get rid of the gym from the rich area in san myshuno and instead build a retail store with very fancy expensive outfits to fit the vibe of the area, and maybe have it be owned by the landgraabs. I have some plans for most neighbourhoods with exception of newcrest since its completely blank and I would need a thematic starting point.

update: i just finished watching the Livestream for eco-lifestyle and omg that IS a gamechanger, so I will probably have to spend some time just playing with it before I add anything to my save file so that I actually know how everything functions together. i will be putting actual making on hold, but I will try and spend this time developing stories for new characters and adding things to the save like clubs and stuff

Update on lots/apartments completed:
Spice district: 5/8
Fashion district: 2/6

I also did one in Newcrest but I'm not sure if I will actually end up using it, since I'm thinking of changing the idea for Newcrest once Eco lifestyle comes out. I want to finish off the spice and fashion areas first, but I'm waiting for eco lifestyle to see if I want to include any stuff from the new pack in the community lots.

since im in the process of starting to make families to fill up the places I built I've been wondering. How many places should I fill up? Because realistically I know that EA worlds are empty for the benefit of the player, but I want my save to be more lively. How many houses/apartments in the save should I leave empty for the people who would download it?

and even then I'm undecided about how to deal with those empty apartments/houses. I will still get the basic stuff in, so it looks like a place you would move into, so like full kitchen/bathroom, but I don't know how much should I fill/leave empty.
