Stuff that Should be Off-The-Grid, But Isn't.

I'm sure someone else must have made this thread before but I'm p▓▓▓▓▓ off enough to make a new one.

Ah, yes this contemporary style camping lantern works wonderfully off the grid. This older one? From Jungle Adventures? For some reason needs electricity. Compatible with Jungle Magic but not Island Magic, I guess we can't cross the streams.

Oh, but if you hang that same Outdoor Retreat lantern on a stick it no longer works off the grid. Mountain Magic, I guess.

Three Senses Oil Lamp... guess Sulani has no oil supplier.

Jungle Adventure's Rustic Candle Chandler is another example of EA's Electric Candles.

Additionally, I am glad that A Story of Three Candles requires electricity, apparently.

Thank god we have the basegame candelabra, though!

This is just what I noticed today. Probably missed some stuff.
  • This is definitely an issue, and especially for lighting. I posted in a different thread that the bath you can make via the carpentry bench is also excluded from use off-the-grid.
  • And so many items that you can use off grid should not be available, like stoves and showers and fridges.
  • In theory wood burning stoves should work off the grid or at a stretch propane tanks could work... but also if everything just works anyway what's the point!?

Yeah, some of the cheapest appliances work off-the-grid and it just seems weird.
