The only problem is this really works with drawing tablets more :c Because of the pen pressure tool, though maybe you can use the pen tool with pen pressure on ? Idk :c
I do know a set of brushes that work well for mouses though, they work how the pen tool does and taper at the ends, you just repeteadely draw the hair, from top to bottom. http://sphu.deviantart.com/art/Sphu-s-Hair-Brush-V-2-81568814
Also when I draw hair, I start with te darkest color of my hair, and build up with lighter and lighter, also the darkest color will be a rough shape, and all the strands will be built up with the lighter colors c:
