The 100 Story Challenge; A perfectly sane twist on the classic 100 Baby Challenge
You've heard of the 100 baby challenge I assume, and if you haven't the rules to that are pretty simple. Have 100 babies all with different partners, using one matriarch to complete the challenge.
What I'm proposing is a twist to this timeless challenge, one that may interest my friends who are writers and role players and story tellers. Anyone else would think this is insane though, I promise.
This challenge is about taking each child you raise in the 100 baby challenge and developing them into a polished and dynamic character, who you will then write into their own short story. Now... how do we go about this?
Step 1: Choose your method
The 100 baby challenge comes in a few flavors, you can naturally have 100 babies with 100 different partners, or you can adopt them one at a time. There may be a few other ways to go about this I am not thinking of, but the important hallmarks of this challenge are that you need to raise the kids from babies into young adults, and you need to randomize all three traits plus their first aspiration. The randomization is really important for this because it challenges you to think of unique ways to spin your character.
Step 2: Start your game
Obviously you can start your game doing this however you want and with whoever you want, this is all a part of the creative process.Just start having children as soon as possible. Now as they start aging up I recommend starting to take notes on your new characters. When you begin writing you want a quick reference to see what each characters traits consists of.
The most important things to make note of are of course the three main traits and the aspiration, these will help you develop the core of your characters. Some optional traits to include...
Step 3: Start writing
If you have your notes, the writing should come easily enough. You created Sim should be the main character of the story, but there can be other characters in each one. I give them friends, separate families, and enemies. I have actually made a few of the kids I've raised into family or friends when writing up stories for them, but usually I make up totally different side characters. Another bonus idea I have is to randomize the genre of the kind of story they appear in for each character. Like roll the dice for kid one to select his story genre, do the same for kid 2, and kid 3, etc. Just another way to challenge yourself if you so choose.
Authors note: I know that some people write Sim fan fiction, but that isn't really what I'm suggesting. Put these characters in another world... such as in our own world, or in a fantasy world or a sci-fi world...and let them lead their own story all together!
That's it really. I mean it's a ton of work, but it is a fairly simple idea, and I think it should be really fun to see where this goes.

- Bonus Traits such as happy toddler or responsible
- Preferences. I've been letting my sims choose their own preferences and agreeing when they say that they like or dislike something. This led my matriarch to declare that she disliked gardening, her main source of income, so that was nice.
- Appearances. I take the sims appearance into consideration when making my characters. The main things I get from this are skin color, hair color and eye color, and sometimes build as well. In my main game I am going the adoption route so it is all pretty random.
