"This is Captain Jack speaking, who is the wise guy who turned off the gravity while I was having my break?" The com went on and all that could be heard were giggles and guffaws in the background. "Captain Jack, it's Pagan here. Did you forget to activate your gravity rings again?" "Yeah, Capt'n Jack,can't ya see the glowing bars and rings on all the furniture and under the tables, yours are on ya uniform remember?" Billy roared with laughter. "Don't worry, sir," Londyn replied, "It happens to the best of us at one time or another. Activate your rings and all will be back to normal. Can't say the same about your food, however." An uproar of laughter erupted again. "Wise Guys," Jack muttered to himself. He touched the rings which glowed an incandescent white, and then dropped hard onto his butt. "Oof, should have moved over the soft cushions."
I liked this one too, but didn't think it was as creative, so left the other one up as my entry.
"Billy," Captain Jack called over the com. "The gravity switch has cut out again." "I'm in the mess hall, would ya mind awfully flickin' the switch on again, thanks." "Sure, why not? I have nothing better to do than fly Prometheus." Captain Jack rolled his eyes. "Fine...is that all I do just push the lever down?" "That's it, easy as. Thanks. Oh...be sure to turn on the switch with the red ends. The others'll send us into hyperspace and...er that wouldn't be a good outcome." Static over the com indicated that Billy had disconnected. "Easy as...alright for you, Mr. Engineer, I'm just the pilot. Okay, here goes." Captain Jack flicked the switch down and dropped hard onto the ground. Oof, he could've warned me.
