I'm sorry, it's been a busy week for me and then my brain is still not quite up to par, although it's getting better.
So I thought maybe we should talk about schedules and what sort of discussions we want to have in this little circle.
I've been in a similar group on Tumblr that ended up failing, and from what I think went wrong there, I don't want to put too much pressure on people or make it too much like an assignment, and I also am not sure if everyone focusing on one story at a time is a good idea. On the other hand, some structure would probably be a good thing. Thoughts?
We're busy in this thread, aren't we? My impression is that all of us have lots going on! And when we don't have lots going on externally, we have lots going on internally!
It seems like right now we're enjoying reading each others' stories. That's so fun--thank you so much for reading "Thirty Sims"! I can't tell you how much anxiety it removes knowing that I'll have someone reading my story. It simply makes writing feel less lonely and more lovely! <3
I would love to have conversations about our writing and our reading!
You know, our conversations in your other thread are really awesome, Medley! What if... we sort of spun off of that here! What if.... rather than focus on a particular writer or story each week, we considered a theme or a question or an aspect of the creative or writing process?
For example, what if one week, we talked about color--or even a specific color! Purple! And then we shared what we discovered in both our reading and our writing related to this color?
Or we could take anything! Gaps--food--coffee or tea--exercise--walking! Shifts in creative energy! Yoga! (I'm currently yoga-obsessed...)
The idea is that we have a theme or question or keyword we explore one week, and as we notice things about that through our reading of each others' work and through our writing, we talk about it that week...
It would be casual/low-key/no pressure. Just a place to talk.
I would also love to be able to carry on conversations with readers here as I notice people reading my chapters, if I've got some itch I want to talk about!
