Ahh I think you should pat yourself on the back if you make a villian likeable/respectable. The villian is the person who will make your hero shine. If he's likeable, your hero has to prove themselves more. :lol: It's 2am in the morning so I can't think of any more common examples, but Colonel Jessup from 'A few good men' comes to mind. For the entire movie I hated this guy, but this one scene I linked here made me understand him so completely that I have to begrudgingly respect him as a good villian and sympathise his position. (Though for the purpose of this discussion he is nowhere near 'soft' villian) But I like him as the villian. :lol:
