Sorry about the delays. I was hoping to find a way to upload all my pictures to the forum in advance of writing the chapter. Given the tool bar for posts, I felt like that would be the easiest approach. Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to find a way to upload the images like that.
Additionally, I’ve had to make time for recovery since I caught an upper respiratory cold. I’m well on my way to recovery.
I plan on getting 2 more chapters uploaded before the end of the month.
SpoilerGiven that this is probably going to be the only chapter Alex speaks in for an extremely long time, I hope I did a good job with his dialogue.@Metior_Ice I love catching up with Alex and Ember again. It feels different or maybe it's my faulty memory. I'm looking forward to seeing how it all unfolds.😃
@DaniRose2143 Alex is now his own character. His name will be Alex Zalrian, and instead of Alexander Goth being reborn as a merman and adopted by the Zalrian Pod, he’s actually Calum and Arihi’s Eldest Son born under the sea.
There will be many similarities to the old story, but Alex is a new character. I also have a different plot in mind for the first arc of the story.
I’ve been meaning to ask @Ellupelluellu some things about their Cassandra Goth and Bella Goth because they had a post involving them that hinted back to my original story’s beginning.
However, I do plan on having Alexander Goth and Mortimer Goth appear in my story.
Damion might also be a little different because of Camilo’s presence in the story.
As for what @Ellupelluellu teased was the sudden disappearance of both Alexander and Mortimer during their trip to Sulani. Something involving a sea witch, but no one knows.
As for my own teaser:
SpoilerDamion is known among merfolk for not going back on his deals. Most who go to him know that he never undoes his magic once a spell has been cast. He’s possessive by nature and the Voice of a Merman or Mermaid is no exception. A deal with him carries the weight of permanence. Most go to him expecting to not get back what they lose.
Camilo is known among humans as a terror from the deep that preys on human greed and desire. Humans deal with Camilo because he did what Damion would never do. Camilo sacrificed his ability to love so that he could take human form and grew much colder than Damion ever will be because of this. Like Damion, Camilo is a Natural-Born Merman that must sacrifice either his voice, love, or youth to walk among humans. He chose to give up his ability to love to go on land.
Because Damion still has his youth, voice, and ability to love, he is a sea witch that can only traverse the sea or underwater. Damion will never appear on land in a human form. And he’s fine with that, he fell in love with Caleb close to the ocean shore, but he never did anything that would allow him to go on land. Damion is also the one that made Caleb a Reborn Merman after an accident with sunlight. Maybe a bad beach day or something. Regardless, Damion is not a fan of humans and isn’t interested in dealing with them. He will deal with the denizens of the sea though.
As a Reborn Merman, Caleb can no longer take human form without the same magic from a sea witch. Caleb is the Patriarch of his pod.This story will be similar but it will also be different.
Ember and Alex are still a cute couple.
