Moira had found her big break! She knew it, I mean, of course she did.
After sending out 468 chain messages, warning that a vengeful ghost would visit whomever didn’t forward them, it wasn’t just luck that one of her predictions finally came true. It didn’t take long for the press to notice, and soon she was out of her skeevy tent and onto the big screen, landing her own TV show: Written in the Stars.
Long gone were the days of rigging lights, cheating the Ouija board and kicking clients under the table. Now, she would give people a real taste of power.
Unfortunately, Moira’s intuition worked best after a quick google search, you know, to get a feel for the client. Something her live audience didn’t sympathise with. Everyone’s eyes were watching as her failed prophesies started to pile up, and following a particularly bad performance, viewership took a fatal dive. Who’d have guessed that in a room full of people, nobody would know a James, John, Joe, J, Rob, Ron or Tom! And even worse, none of their relatives had died recently.
Neither did anyone seem impressed when she predicted it would rain over the weekend, or that the garden didn’t need watering till Monday. “We’d rather watch the weather channel!” someone shouted, and she predicted they would step on Lego. Faced with fleeting fame, desperate, and booed off stage, Moira pulled her last stunt.
“So, you want something more interesting? Well, remember my name, because you'll be hearing much more of it when I marry the prince."
There’s no way Moira’s returning to a life of sweaty palms and volunteering at romance festivals. She’s a star, and she’s going to use all 6 of her senses to keep it that way. All she needs to do is prove her wildest premonition true.
