It turns out she's miscalculated her parents' work schedule. Kimi meets her at the door and is furious. "Why aren't you at school?! You can't keep spending almost every night at that boyfriend's house, it will ruin your education. Do you understand how serious that is?!"

Kimi refuses to let her inside, and sends her off to school without letting Mira try to explain how she feels.
But Mira has no intention of going to school today. Since she wasn't allowed inside to eat breakfast, she buys some food at one of the stands in the neighborhood.

Then she heads to the art center in Newcrest to practice keyboard. Her moms can go on about school as much as they want, the only thing Mira really cares about is music. Plus it helps her deal with the loss of her grandmother.
