Hi @WyattsMommy1211 :smile: Yes that is how the challenge is written as it is intended to use the game mechanics to play. Meaning Sims get tired, hungry, dirty etc and only your main Sim is controllable.
Generally speaking mods and custom content are used at the players discretion. EA/Maxis does not promote the use of mods/cc and is not responsible for how they affect your game.
Due to its nature the particular mod you mention is not encouraged as it is against the
Terms of Service for The Sims in general.
