The Speedberry Legacy - Not So Berry on Short Lifespan COMPLETE
Because it's rarely too late to take pride in a challenge I've completed and post it online, right?
I've posted it before on a TS group on FB (The Sims Society), but I figured I should find ways to be more active in here, so here you go...
Short lifespan is probably my favorite way to play, it's the first challenge I completed start-to-finish in TS4 and I knew the only way to go through with it is to do it with the extra challenge of shorter time to finish it all. I did my best to sum up the story in as little screenshots as I could so please bear with me as I share this achievement. ✨
Some personal anecdotes from this challenge:
1. Do yourself a favor and get the Faster Graduation Mod by mrzmary on MTS. It makes getting a degree for your sim less exhausting and is the only way to do it on short lifespan.
2. Peach HAS TO be an entertainer before they become a Detective or else you won't be able to finish their Joke Star aspiration. I realize the challenge's wording isn't clear on whether you must finish the aspiration or not, but since every other generation had to I assume, for myself, that Peach must do it as well.
3. Although I had enough fun to finish this challenge, it is obvious that Lilsimsie never finished it herself. This challenge was not playtested so it gets confusing and repetitive at times. At the time of this post she's giving NSB another go on her other channel (MoreSimsie) and is currently on 2nd gen, hopefully she'll make it further than 5th gen this time!
4. If you don't want berry-colored sims don't have kids with aliens. Those genes are *strong*. As you can see with my sims here it took four (4) generations to get non-alien skin again.

I love Strangerville, the NSB founder being a scientist was a perfect excuse to kick off the challenge with the Strangerville mystery. Yes, I did two aspirations at once while on short lifespan. 💪

Honestly the element collection is probably the hardest collection. Having a chemical analyzer at home helped a lot.

Nana (Mint gen) was instantly hooked on Rohan Elderberry, she had eyes for no one else... And a voodoo doll of Rohan to make sure he didn't either.

Nana and Rohan had a few ups and downs, some to do with their age gap (he was a YA when she was an adult), others to do with her constant pranking and mischief making, sometimes it was the long distance between her home in Strangerville and his in Britchester. All of their differences were set aside when she was pregnant with their oldest daughter, Carmine. After saving Strangerville Nana moved in into the house Rohan inherited from his grandparents. Soon enough they because parents of four (in order): Carmine, Roux, Crimson & Sanguine.

Nana had a long happy life, wishing on a life extension from The Mother of Strangerville she reached the top of her career, achieved Chief of Mischief status, collected all the elements, married the love of her life and even got to see all her children reach young adulthood... With the exception of Roux who accidently froze to death. Yikes.

Out of Nana's four children, the youngest, Sanguine, was the Rose heir. He was deeply in love with his childhood best friend, Ellen Pancakes.

Soon after they got engaged he was kidnapped (and impregnated) by aliens. 🤷♂️

Bewildered by his alien abduction, Sanguine called off the wedding. He then got in and out of failed relationships as he climbed the ladder of his political career.

Soon after leaving his first love at the altar Sanguine "gave birth" to Starshine, his only offspring and Yellow heir. Although she came into his life under traumatic circumstances (and his career/dating habits kept him from spending much time with her) he loved her dearly.

After becoming the president of sim nation (National Leader, Politician branch) and kissing enough frogs to realize Ellen has been the only princess of his heart, Sanguine reached out to his childhood bff and begged her to marry him. This time around the now elderly Ellen and Sanguine held a minimalist ceremony in Sulani where they first met, in attendance were only the two of them, daughter Starshine and her girlfriend, Robyn. (more on that in yellow gen).

As if being born out of wedlock to an aspiring politician wasn't enough, Starshine was a first generation alien to someone with no prior experience with occults. Sanguine thought it best to keep his daughter out of the public eye, not letting her outside their mansion in Willow Creek. Starshine was homeschooled by their butler, leading a lonely, sedentary life childhood... Her life changed for the better on a Spooky Day night, while her dad was away she got to be the one answering the door to a trick o' treating pirate, Robyn. Not wasting a second, Starshine proclaimed Robyn as her bff. After coming clean to her dad that she met another kid and no one freaked out, Sanguine caved in and let her attend public school on the condition that she'll keep her alien identity a secret. A promise Starshine broke immediately (but the sims being the sims nobody batted an eye and Sanguine's status was left unscathed).

On the night her dad and his own childhood BFF tied the knot, Starshine proposed to Robyn.

Neither of them having friends other than each other, they "eloped" on a bridge in near to where they had their first date (a UFO-themed diner in Oasis Springs). Afterwards they bought a huge modern home on the lot across from the Landgraabs.

Eventually Starshine built a rocket ship and flew to Sixam. It was nice meeting up with other aliens after a lifetime of seclusion of otherness... Going back home to her pregnant wife was much nicer...

Starshine being an alien was enough for me to justify her being able to impregnate her wife (who had the audacity to drown in their pool when the kids were but toddlers! 😔). They had wonderful triplets (left to right) Aphora, Goose and Claudia. The boy, Goose, is the Grey heir.

Goose was the odd duck in his family. Personality-wise he took after his deceased mom, while his sisters and living mother were all brainy and bookish, Goose was all about sports and making messes that weren't science-related.

Goose met Maximilliano as teens, they became fast friends but Goose always wished they'd be something more... Knowing Max wasn't into guys and had a long time girlfriend, Goose dated other boyfriends that lead nowhere (as per challenge demands). When they've reached young adulthood Max immediately married his high school sweetheart, an evil sim who's name I forgot.

Goose invited Max on an all-paid trip to Selvadorada, under the guise of celebrating his recent marriage. Truth was Goose wanted to show Max how awesome his life with his "snowbro" could be if only he gave him a chance.

To think all it took for Max to change his mind about divorcing a wife and marrying an alien man was a day of streaking, swimming and fishing...

After their time in Selvadorada was over, the two moved to Mt Komorebi to live out their snowbro dream. Apparently Max didn't have a problem with dating guys, he didn't even flinch at getting impregnated by a guy. The thing he had a problem with was accepting a huge slob like Goose when he was a neat freak. An issue they had lots of bickering over.

Goose & Max had two children, an eldest son Indigo and a younger daughter Mauve, the Plum heir.
Here Mauve is seen watching Bebe Rexha live in Magnolia Blossom Park. This was a pivotal experience in Mauve's life which inspired her to dream of becoming a famous musician someday.

Mauve was very close to her dads and brother, she pursued a career in medicine to make them proud and planned to stay in Mt Komorebi to take care of her aging parents. Breana was a patient on Mauve's shift, she was smitten by her Poison Ivy looks and asked her out after she got home. Her dads approved.

Mauve and Breana got married on a whim without considering each other's aspirations in life. Mauve thought Breana will stay with her family in Mt Komorebi until she writes enough songs to quit her medical day job, while Breana hoped Mauve will follow her to Sulani so she can achieve her dream of cleaning the beaches as an Environmental Conservationist. They divorced during the festival of light.

Some time passed and their paths crossed again in San Myshuno, Mauve's dads passed and her brother moved away so there wasn't much left for the Plum heir in Mt Komorebi. Breana and Mauve were still very enamored with each other so a compromise was made- Mauve will move to Sulani, but Breana had to bear her a child even though she hates children.

Tapuz was one bad apple, always getting into fights and acting inappropriately in other people's homes. He had risky woohoos with his older girlfriend and when she told him she was pregnant he immediately invited her to move in. After the twins (Azalea & Axolotl) were born she ditched him and took away all his money, leaving him no choice but to raise his children in a “need TLC” apartment until late into his adulthood when he climbed the crime ladder and became a fully-fledged crime lord.

Regardless of his evil ways, Tapuz always put his children first. Tapuz was one bad apple, always getting into fights and acting inappropriately in other people's homes. He had risky woohoos with his older girlfriend and when she told him she was pregnant he immediately invited her to move in. After the twins (Azalea & Axolotl) were born she ditched him and took away all his money, leaving him no choice but to raise his children in a “need TLC” apartment until late into his adulthood when he climbed the crime ladder and became a fully-fledged crime lord.

Regardless of his evil ways, Tapuz always put his children first. Azalea (and her twin Axolotl) grew up to be introverted and unflirty. They preferred to read books and practice yoga poses over hanging out with kids their age. Eventually Azalea left her stable accounting job in San Myshuno to pursue a degree in creative writing, hoping to be a successful author someday (which she did indeed become). Her days consisted of the three things she loved most- maintaining her garden, meditating in her garden and writing in her bedroom’s balcony overlooking her garden.

Autumn grew up in Britchester, when he reached young adulthood he moved to Del SOl Valley so he could attend the "police academy" (Foxbury U) during the day and work as a comedian during the night (because you must in order to advance with the Joke Star aspiration). When the time came to suit up in blue he was already a famous name around the precinct. Eva got her eyes on him from day one and kept making moves even though they're coworkers. Autumn didn't mind one bit, on the contrary, he fancied her a lot himself.

They got married on the beach in Brindleton Bay with all their friends and coworkers present.... For the party, Watcher forbid they'd actually line up to watch the ceremony. 🙄

Her oldest brother’s early demise forever changed their family dynamic, Eva became cold towards her living kids. Basil and Honeydew had to raise themselves, with their dad throwing himself into his work and their mom ignoring them entirely. After Autumn died of old age Eva kicked both of them out of the house.

Honeydew, Green Heir, was a workaholic flirty nerd (and Geekcon champion) who had many failed relationships before she found her rock, Vivaan. He was a dog lover, family-oriented sim that gave her all the confidence and balance she needed in her life. Her many exes (most of which are women) stayed her close friends, while others became her worst enemies.
Stupidly it seems I didn’t save more screenshots of green gen. They had two dogs whose names I forgot and two kids, Midnight (blue heir) and Skyler (his younger sister of which I have no pictures of :( )

Midnight was a gloomy kid with a happy childhood. He was loved by his parents, his dogs and his neighbor and BFF Brynn, “the evil tomboy”. They were inseparable, always at each other’s houses after school doing everything kids do together, from school projects to trashing the floor with buckets of paint.

Midnight can be seen here marrying his high school sweetheart Alexei. What you can't see are their high school gang, parents and siblings cheering them in the background... Along with Midnight's BFF Brynn who sorta kinda hates Alexei for some reason.

The guilt of still being gloomy even though he lives a "perfect" life pushed Midnight to make the horrible decision of having a one night stand with Brynn, his childhood BFF who kept a flame going for him since when they were kids. This bad decision resulted in the birth of Edelweiss, whom Brynn happily gave over to Midnight since she and her husband weren't interested in raising any snooty kids.

Alexei never questioned where the new toddler was from, the wholesomeness he exuded in accepting her as his own made Midnight realize just how lucky he is and how he must fight for his love and family above all else.

Now that Alabaster is a young adult Midnight finished his Aspiration as well as his career, thus completing all the tasks of the Blue (and final) generation. I'm aware of the "extended" version of the NSB challenge which is why I bothered making Edelweiss fit to be the White heir... However I think I'll leave this save for now and bask in what I have achieved so far. 😌✨
