Thank you! And yes, she's lucky that way, so many weren't. Of course it does help that her family is so willing to blame everything on Doug and see her as a poor, little, victim. I'm fairly certain she doesn't see herself as such.

I think it helps that she is an adult woman over 30 who has been used to standing up for herself for so many years that the thought of giving in isn't there. If she had been younger it might have been different. Of course it does help too that she's a part of a community who are more lax with morals than the rest of society. Not that it helps against landlords...
