I wish we had step-parents, it would make it so much easier to move two households together. At least that it was something that we could set ourselves. It is sad when a sim raises a child and isn't recognized.

I have a young adult that when I went to introduce her child to her grandparents, her kid was not recognized as family to them. It was on family tree but not under relationship or any special interaction. Apparently, grandparents is as far as it goes. It was quite a bummer. I understand great great great grandpa could get a bit ridiculous, but it should at least have one 'great' since that would be the latest on the timeline playable together.

Later the adult (dependent child) will remember the parental role of the guardian/stepparent.

That's great, haven't had time to play with step-families since the pack came out. Looking forward to doing that one day :)

I totally agree!

I really don't understand why this isn't already a thing. They need to look at what they did with 3 and repeat it here, all relationships seemed accounted for and we had more relationship options in CAS. Not all family members seem to show up on a sims family tree as well, I can't see a sims in laws unless I click over to the sim that connects them. When your son gets married and has kids, his wife is part of your family, no idea why the game acts like they're not connected.

I agree that there should be a step parent tag;

buuut I disagree with step parents not being able to be a romantic interest, that's kind of a key element to creating drama.

This is something that really bugs me. If you switch between families and suddenly you have people with very inappropriate relationships when you return.
