Thumbnail help

What do you guys use for your thumbnails on youtube? I'm just starting a channel and don't want to upload just a generic still from the video as the thumbnail, but I find programmes like Photoshop so difficult to use. Surely not everyone is using professional photo editing software?

    I use Photoshop, but if I didn't have that, I'd use something like PicsArt if you want mobile or Ribbet.com on PC.
