There is a little bit of this with sentiments, but it could definitely be better. I'd personally like more of this flavor, but I don't think it will be as popular in practice as you might think.
All the complaints about things like parents being upset with children, etc. through the sentiment system is evidence of that. It never bothered me because you cannot tell me you have had 100% positive feelings about all of your relatives every moment of your life. People get upset, it's fine. You can not like someone as a person and still love this person as family.
