The reason being to give the Sim who moves out enough money to afford a proper house. Not start out with $20,000 or whatever it is. You have a family that's millionaires and living in a 3 storied mansion. Their oldest kid moves out into a small 1 bedroom house with a little over 3 grand left. Not exactly realistic
So basically proper moving out option :)
Well yes :) but also giving that sim or sims some of the family funds or extra starting money to give them more options when it comes to choosing a new house :)
I belive in TS3 you could chose the house/lot where your sim yould move into or kick them into a random house.
