I was going to write one for the beginners comp, but I guess it's not needed anymore.... :o However, I know several methods that work, even for different situations, so I guess I can still do it. I just wish everyone had waited patiently.... :sweat_smile:
The only thing I didn't know was the selection part for Gimp, even though it's so obvious and I should have known it. xD What I do instead is just erase the background, so there was never a need to hit delete incase the over selection did happen, and even then you can adjust the threshold so it doesn't select everything. No need to fill with pattern either, as your background is already selected (unless it does something else that I missed).
And there's really no need for picmonkey if someone wants to continue editing for modeling comps. Gimp can handle your backgrounds easily, so I'm curious as to why you chose it. :O
