I think it would be cool to have “slacker” careers back like grocery store employees or new regular day jobs like a bank teller. Military as an active career would be fun! But definitely an active education career field for primary and secondary school teachers as well as another track as a professor for sims with high level skills in certain subjects where they could teach those skills to other sims in a classroom setting. Ex. A sim with high level writing skill could become a professor at a university and other sims could sign up for a degree program or just take 1 or 2 classes online to improve that skill a little.
STSmiler,
I love the idea of having online classes. I could see this as a skill-building option for all skills. Maybe it would level up slightly faster than books, but it would cost $$$ to enroll in the class.
