Why is Animal not a child aspiration (Cats and Dogs)?

I really want this. Children can play with dogs and cats in real life, so why can't it be added to the aspiration menu for the sims?

I imagine it being basically the same as the adult one, except stage 4 is cut out, of course. Plus, ghosts scare children most of the time anyway. Additionally, the Stage 1 part saying that you have to have a pet in the household would be changed to "meet one pet" as in go in the general vicinity of an animal. I know it seems easy, but the adults might not want to adopt an animal. The reward trait would make friendship with animals grow faster as an adult.

I assume you refer to the animal lover aspiration? Based on the title of the thread I thought you wanted them to turn into an animal, and while children might want that, I found the idea quite puzzling.
  • Can child Sims even train the pet dogs? I've not tried actually. That would be too bad if they couldn't. We definitely need more aspirations for children. I would love one centered around taking care of pets maybe a more general one too including simple things like feeding fish, rescuing stray dogs and cats, catching frogs etc.

  • That would be amazing. I've been saying forever that we need more child aspirations. We could even have a child-specific equivalent with its own milestones.

LOL sorry about the wording. Yes, I mean the Animal Lover aspiration. I titled it in reference to the category Animal, probably not my best decision there
