Think of the different playstyles! Maybe the first player focuses on a single household, then the next player is a rotational player who fleshes out all their friends's households, totally neglecting progress in the first. Then the next player is very goal oriented, passing the save on with lots of skills, only for the next one to have the sims not make any career/skill/aspiration progress, but they have two hundred screenshots that prove that the sims had a good time.
(I'm not sure if what I just described is a good or bad thing.)
