2025 feedback

Hi,

The previous years (from 2015 to 2023) I purchased 100% of the packs.

But this year I saved $95 (57% of the packs released that will never be in my library)  :

  • 1 EP : EP19 Enchanted By Nature
  • 2 Kits : K41-42 SpongeBob
  • 9 Creator Kits

My wallet is happy.

I know what you mean, I haven't purchased the last 7 'kits' and likely won't purchase the next 7 either.  Because EA is not listening to fans and responding to requests - and inZoi is turning out to be a much better product - I don't see any more reason to reward sub-mediocre content.

  • Haven't brought any dlc this year at all cause of how unstable (because of fixes 🧐) the game has been over the last year, it puts me off. There's a few packs I want but when my game just gets stuck loading to the main menu and I can't play for over a month what's the point in spending money on content when out of the blue one day you can't use it because they release a patch that locks you out of playing. Nintendo has done well out of me this year though and I've been very happy with the games I've brought because they haven't been broken and I've actually been able to play them without problems every time I've loaded them up. Imagine that! 🤯

  • I have bought the EP and about half the kits and can safely say no more.

    • Ever since lovestruck we had EP after EP with only 3 to 4 months between releases. This is far to close. I haven't explored one before the next one comes around.
    • The last 4 EP releases were overshadowed by an event. Instead of enjoying the new pack I was playing a throw away family to tick off boxes on a time schedule. I am not doing events with a family I care about because I don't want to be forced into a story imagined by someone else. I am limited in time to play and despise these events.
    • I can understand if the team wants to redo past concepts after a few years like apartments or owning a business. But this year we had two EP with the concept of adding activities to lots so our sims can visit them. That's way to fast to repeat a theme
    • Businesses and hobbies is a misleading title as it only comes with one hobby: pottery. Tattooing is a skill but not a hobby
    • Adventure awaits finally brought fairies. Unfortunately fairies are programmed to hate spellcasters. Since I already have a lot of spellcasters on my game I don't want to add fairies with prejudices.
    • Ailments were killing the enjoyment of the new EP. In the originally intended release, in order to play fairies, the devs expected simmers to have ailments on our sims once a day, every day. And just in case someone escaped they made them contagious on top of it. Seriously, that was what EA thought players want to endure to get fairies? This is why fairies should have been a game pack. I am glad it's fixed now but I haven't forgotten it yet.
    • We also got kit overload. Previous years had 10 kits max. This year we have 18 kits (including prairie Dreams releasing today) There is so much stuff added in them, I can hardly find anything in the overflowing catalogue. Splitting them up into two lists on the official website doesn't make them cost anything less.
    • Spongebob? A childish cartoon as a collab for a teen rated game is an odd choice to say the least. That's the most polite way to say anything about the kit.

All in all this has been a very demanding year, demanding for my wallet, my nerves and my time. I will from now on focus on my time content I already have and buy way less in the next year.
