Accessibility In the Sims 4 (Rather the lack of...)
(For some context i have a severe sight impairment, My perhiphrial vision is gone/covered in blind spots and my central vision is poor but some what useable. using built in screen readers and magnifiers on my devices is how i access and use a computer.)
When i first downloaded the sims and headed to the 'accessibility' tab in settings i was disheartened, the only option: UI scale. ok thats better than nothing... oh it doesnt work (like everything else ) hmmmmm ok, so yeah there is no accessibility options at all. You would at least expect UI scale to work, the ONE option you added.
The lack of accessibility in the sims is quite literately painful for me, since screen readers aren't supported i am left with just magnification, now there is a lot of reading to be done, Moodlets, notifications, pie menues, career/gig info, traits, bb item descriptions, literally EVERYTHING. 'manually' reading everything means my eye get strained hella fast and then that causes headaches, i have to choose between wether i am going to play in live mode and hope i dont miss any important info in moodlets/notifications like when a sim of mine died to a meteor as i was not able to read the moodlet that happens sometimes when stargazing, or when part of the house got burnt down as i was zoomed in looking at the sim-olgy (cant remember the exact name rip) panel. between reading any notifications or have a look at moodlests, maybe even look at a few item descriptions. hell it makes me sad when i buy DLC and i cant read all the new notifications, moodlets and descriptions that come with them, i just want to know what is happening and enjoy them.
there are times where i essentially have to sacrifice my eye, knowing that if i try and play the sims i wont be able to use it for anything else afterwards as i will just be in pain, i have to choose between 'play sims' and 'everyday tasks'. it is making me not want to play at all, but i love the sims and dont want to give it up. i want to enjoy it, i want to buy DLC.
my eye is tired and so am i, I just want to play the sims
