As of 7/6/24 What is EA's current official stance on the lack of diagonal stairs

Some post claims they intentionally ommitted diagonal stairs "by design" And pointed to an ancient link of the Devs list of things the players want, where theres one single mention of "Add Diagonal Stairs"  jotted next to 2014 and no explanation given.

- What does he or she mean "by design"?

- Why did they confirm knowledge about an essential feature in 2014 but still haven't acted upon this?

I'd like an updated explanation as to why this 10 years old game has no diagonal stairs and no spiral staircase despite the 3 older sims games having this option, and despite knowing about this and having multiple posts complain about it?

- Couldn't they just use the assets from Sims 3 and then update the graphics on it to develop the stairs?

- Is this happening because EA is cutting The Sims developers' budget?

- Is it because the lead engineer of some part of the game has already left, and the only people working on Sims 4 specialize in anything but Pathing and stairmaking?

I see that they've made a ton of mini DLC packs since then, but I'm hesitant to buy anymore because without at least 1 diagonal and 1 spiral stairs, this is still an incomplete game.

Is this because fixing this issue doesn't make as much money as adding new content? Because I'm not going to buy more packs until this foundational option is created. I'm not going to rotate my house sideways so I stick out like a sore thumb in the neighborhood, and have to constantly rotate the camera to the normal FOV when I leave the house, nor am I willing to enter console command, toggle off clipping, and then spend the next 2 hours stacking and rotating shelves onto each other. I shouldn't have to do that nonsense. Because It made me have to redo an entire area of the house. It might not make a ton of money like the DLC packets, but EA will lose even more money if lots of people stop buying Sims 4 DLCs because they're sick of being Nickle and Dimed and not even being given a complete product. I think they've already lost a lot more players because of this. But EA is probably over investing in more popular games like Battlefield and neglecting the others.

By design means that it is a deliberate choice and not a bug.

A lot goes into consideration when deciding on such matters like. How hard will it be to do, Do enough people want it, What are the possibility that it will have a negative effect on performance of the game and so on.

Personal opinion: Diagonal stairs are impractical to use so are not much seen in real life.

Spiral stairs while I would like to see them back were mostly something you would see in the 80ties or in special narrow places like a tower. EA introduced bendable stairs to somewhat alleviate this.
