Nobody said EA is incapable of designing an open world game.
The Sims 4 is not an open world game. You cannot simply "make it open world". That's not how any of this works. You are doing the equivalent of saying taco bell can make chalupas, therefore, they can transform my hamburger into a chalupa.You seem to love the annoying loading screen, right?
You missed the point completely. Intern_Waffle_64's argument is sound. The Sims franchise has proven that is capable of making a Sims open world and did that via Sims 3. They did not do that for Sims 4, therefore, Sims 4 will never become an open world unless the developers completely scrapped all the worlds that have been made, recreated them from the ground up to be open and coded them for such capabilities.
