Australia Inspired World?
We've never had anything Australia inspired in any of the Sims, as far as I can remember. It would be nice to see Koalas, Quokkas, Wombats, Kangaroos, Tasmanian Devil, etc. Taking selfies with Quok...
@simsplayer818 now i'm just thinking how this would be a great opportunity to add the great barrier reef as an underwater lot compatible with mermaids. 😭
I like all the ideas that you have all been posting for an Australian themed world! 🙂 They all sound great!
Gday mate! Welcome to the Down Under.
Australia is such a land of contrasts - landscapes, weather, lifestyles, languages, cultures, food…. each state is unique and has many experiences that cannot be found elsewhere. I have lived my entire life here and still only seen a fraction of the many experiences and sites to be found here.
There are all the world heritage and iconic things - Tasmanian wilderness, Great Barrier Reef, NT wetlands, Daintree Forest in Qld, Uluṟu, Pinnacles in WA, Pearl diving off WA coastline, Rottnest Island, the largest sand island in the world ie K’gari (Fraser Island), our lifesavers and the RFDS, outback cattle stations where you might visit your neighbours by plane or chopper, the many amazing First Nations experiences, Sydney Opera House… camel treks through the desert to the Sounds of Silence dinner, Parrtjima festival, festival of lights… the various musters and music festivals…fossicking for gemstones like opal, sapphire, emerald, ruby or panning for gold… maybe you’d like to meet Cooper in Eromanga or visit the dinosaur capital Winton, and go dinosaur and fossil fossicking in outback Australia… all the outback car rallies and races (and don’t forget the other races - horse, camel, cockroach, toad, rubber ducky, bathtub…); the outback town crawl (by plane)… whale watching… not to forget all the ‘big’ statues eg big pineapple, big banana, big prawn, eco tours… or a tour based on the blockbuster movies that have been made here…
then there is our love of everything sports (land and water)…
Of course it wouldn’t be Sims without a new death or lots of possible new deaths because of all of our nasties (spiders, snakes, sharks, sea snakes, jellyfish, stonefish…) and of course you definitely have to include the iconic tourist trap - our drop bears! (kidding). Oh that reminds me… Aussie humour and language. Eg Servos in Australia are a place you go to for your car fuel or gas…
Now it’s time for something different ie all the amazing attractions, sites and experiences to be found in New Zealand; as well as the Aurora Australis (Southern Lights) which can be seen from Southern mainland Australia, Tasmania and New Zealand… or maybe you’d rather take a flying tour to experience them even closer!
After all that it’s time to relax in some of our wonderful artesian springs and spas (check the water temp before you enter - they’re hot!), our beaches whether you want a built-up tourist Mecca like the Gold Coast with all the extra theme parks and activities… or a beautifully isolated beach all to yourself, BBQ on the beach or in the outback, east coast Australia watching the sun rise over the ocean then several hours plane journey (or several days on the India Pacific train) to WA where sun sets over the water, island retreats, remote spas, secluded yoga retreats, treetop walks…
Nearly forgot the TimTam slam!
This is just a brief outline, there is so much more.
I have been truly blessed to have been born and raised in Australia and have experienced things that cannot be found anywhere else in the world, growing up in a small multi-cultural coastal fishing and farming town near K’gari, then lived in several of the Capital cities and now I live in an Outback town with native wildlife as some of my favourite neighbours.
