Auto-Lights Lag, Outfit swapping Lag, and more. (Technical Issues/Bugs)
I remember reporting a problem with the mouse cursor just dropping your FPS in-game just by moving it around, I think my report of that actually ended up getting it fixed.
However, I love playing with Auto-Lights on... the problem is that anytime a light gets turned off/on by your sim entering/leaving a room the framerate drops from say around 140-150 to downwards of 70-80 on big lots and or with a bunch of sims on them. This can feel quite bad at times.
Another problem is whenever a sim is changing an outfit, it causes the framerate to also fluctuate, and can also add up. To be clear none of these are necessarily a huge problem, but it does cause a problem when all of these problems add up and create lagging/stuttering all over the place from the multitude of issues.
Yet another problem is the Emotion system, or the Icon change that happens when a Sim changes emotion, this causes fluctuations in the framerate and will add up to an unsmooth and stuttery experience as well.
These issues also get a LOT worse on bigger lots and also with bigger families as well if the auto-lights feature is getting used a lot, sims change outfits/emotions and the image changes as well... All of it ends up adding up and can really cause a stuttering and framerate fluctuating mess as I'm saying.
Also on a side note, this game still has a lot farther to go on the CPU optimization of things. In Fortnite I see my CPU get used up to 100% and up to the maximum frequency which is 5GHz. In the Sims I could be getting 50-70% GPU usage at worst moments and only around 3.9-4.1 GHz on frequency and only about 50-60% usage.
This is just a rundown of a few lag problems the game has at its core that I wish to see fixed. Speaking that there were cursor optimizations done, I hope the Auto-Lights system gets optimized along with the other features that create stuttering/lag to smooth out the experience.
