I like the break ins and blackmail that were added with For Rent. I played a Sim based on Black Widow (but not heroic at all). She was in everyone's homes rooting through their stuff and then blackmailing them later. I recommend it for fun gameplay. She also has the kleptomaniac trait and is a double agent.
I dressed her a bit like a burglar using the Goth kit. For an outfit that looks cool during the day...and helps her sneak around at night!
I kind of expected to see burglars back when I saw the gameplay for For Rent but instead we got this.

Well the best of all was that it was just one of the things that could happen it was not something that you could count on happening.
I think i only saw two comet's back in those days but you always had that feel it was going to happen but you could never tell when or how.
If they ever install this into the sims 4 i hope they will stick to that randomness and the rarity these events had because it gives more.
It's no fun when you know it will happen.

I thought when when Get to Work came out we were definitely gonna get burglars but we didn't. Then after we got both repair persons and fire fighters I thought we were gonna get burglars next! But we didn't. When we got the repo person I thought now for sure ... But nope lol.
After For Rent I was so sure that break ins were also gonna reintroduce burglars but once again disappointed lol..
I feel like everything is there for burglars to come back but for some reason we still don't have them and I wonder why.
They are iconic.
They provide challenge and consequence to the game.
It could be an interesting career type
There are lots of storytelling ideas it could give players.
