So recently we had some flashy ad button.
Then timed event to make us logging in for stats.
For the first time in years sims 4 isn't installed on my computer. I'm done.
Hopefully not forever, but that's up to EA. Rollback these changes. Crap mechanics that belong to F2P don't belong in a game than cost hundred of dollars. I hardly play F2P games because even for free, I won't suffer this.
If your intent is not to kill the game, STOP. Just listen to us and STOP.
I'm a long time simmer ( started with TS1), but now I'm worried and sad about the direction the game is going.
Is that what you want Rene to look like? It'll be without me if that's the case. Not sure how many newcomers you'll be attracting, but you'll be loosing lots of us old timers.

@EowynCarter I also started playing with Sims 1 (2000 even!) and feel very discouraged and saddened by the recent turn of events. Honestly, TS4 is such a big moneymaker already; why the need to change marketing tactics that don't need to change?
@EA_Cade @TheSimsDirect I'm in New England (region in the northeast USA, for anyone not familiar with it) and Dunkin' Donuts is really popular place to get donuts, breakfast foods, and coffee, Recently, they've started changing the name across their franchise to be just Dunkin'. It makes no sense since WHAT exactly are you dunking in your coffee if you don't want to sell donuts? I don't understand the need to drop the donuts part of the name, or the once plentiful selection, because it was already wildly successful without trying to be a Starbucks. This is the same with EA! Why are you trying to mimic Fortnite or some other similar style game, when if we wanted that experience, we'd ASK for it? Simmers in general are VERY VOCAL and passionate about these games. We have TONS of suggestions across these forums. Tons of us are neurodivergent and can't stop talking about our special interest (organic, free, word of mouth advertising). Many more of us share creations on the gallery (again, organic, free marketing - if you are missing a pack from a build, you're more apt to consider purchasing, especially once you can see what is possible), yet that remains broken and unfixed. And finally, fixing the current packs (well done on the new team but WHY are we finally getting solid fixes at the 10 year mark?) would go a long way in restoring relationships with your current players, which will again, start us up again with hyping the game franchise to our friends!
TL;DR:
- WHY MAKE CHANGES THAT ARE WHOLLY UNNECESSARY AND INSULTING TO YOUR AUDIENCE
- THREE WAYS TO SAVE ON YOUR MARKETING BUDGET
1. Free, organic word of mouth
2. Free, organic Gallery activity
3. Repairing your relationship with us, your consumers and (before now) advocates
Thanks for considering my points, hopefully!

I'm in the same boat as you, op and others it's like they say they're listening but yet they aren't like there's simmers all source of media saying the same thing. There's simmers giving ideas and examples of what they expect and it's a totally different pack/kit and when it is a kit its broken, something is missing, or skipped over or rushed I said this in another thread of this forum Veteran Simmers such as us will notice those things and I feel in the last decade that Sims 4 has huge steps back from the previous games and its sad that I have to say this like a broken record. Also, in previous games we paid less and got more and now it's the opposite. Simmers been asking and begging for cars and burglars the suspense gameplay for now years and... its tiring really. I personally been asking for Preteens as a new life stage other simmers have as well for years now and again its tiring. I personally said if i don't see cars by September which now means the next roadmap and it would be officially ten years, I'll be done with Sims 4.
