From what I can see from the tuning files on "trolling the forums" this action is whitelisted for the following traits (so if they are any of these that is why they did that):
<T>16836<!--trait_Evil--></T>
<T>16830<!--trait_Childish--></T>
<T>16841<!--trait_Geek--></T>
<T>16845<!--trait_HotHeaded--></T>
<T>16848<!--trait_Insane--></T>
<T>9602<!--trait_Loner--></T>
<T>9620<!--trait_Snob--></T>
<T>16857<!--trait_Mean--></T>
It is not based on likes/dislikes, that tends to be used for applying positive and negative buffs when they have or do certain actions/interactions.
IMO, they should add blacklist too according to both traits and dislikes, which in the internal files still regards likes/dislikes as a trait:
<T>264149<!--trait_SimPreference_Dislikes_Activities_Mischief--></T>

I never have those traits selected on my sims and I get the mischief skill anyway from the sim either coming into contact with another sim that has the skill or by trolling the web.

That was just for "trolling the forums" file, as for the rest of Mischief actions...
Ya, annoyingly enough some (if not all) autonomous actions work on all sims no matter traits and likes/dislikes. They only have slight desire/preference calculation differences. But it isn't enough for 100% prevention, for example simply being in a Playful mood up ticks the chances of a Mischief action... It is hecka annoying. They need to overhaul autonomy.

All those nasty and unattractive traits add so much Fun to the game. I let them exist in my gameplay because most of my NPC's pick them...and I pick them off(delete.)slowly with pleasure. ☺️

I don't mind how NPC act (using such traits); I mind how my households do—autonomy wise. However, if a Sim NPC or otherwise could act more true to their likes/dislikes and traits, I think it would be more believable and helpful to the game.

Okay, but I kind of take offense at Loner and Geek being “nasty and unattractive” - just because I need regular me time and like board games and sci-fi doesn’t automatically make me a bully, which is what almost all the mischief interactions are. 😒

THIS; what exactly about "Geek" or "Loner" imply that one has to be unpleasant? I'm actually both IRL as well, and consider myself to be very against bullying and unprovoked meanness in general. Actually, part of the reason why I became even more of a loner than I originally was is because I myself had been bullied and teased a little too much while trying to be friends with people.
Loners being implied to be malicious is bad enough, but I especially dislike that Geek has to be one of "those" traits too. Geeks are just really enthusiastic about their interests, which just so happen to be "nerdy" ones. I blame the negative gamer stereotypes, honestly: being super immature, having emotional control issues, lacking in empathy, etc. AKA the reason why I refuse to call myself a "gamer" despite video games being a lifelong passion of mine. Geek Sims love video games too, so they are considered "gamers" and get slapped with all the bad gamer stereotypes.
