Difficulty Modes

I'm probably not the only one who's been feeling like the game is just too easy?

Need money? Just begin painting and you'll be drowning in riches instantly. Need your needs filled? Just get some apples and make those need fill potions from alchemy.

It's starting to get insanely stale being able to progress so easily.

That's why I think difficulty modes should make their arrival. Allowing us to adjust need decay, career pays (including gigs), decrease/increase global costs of items, disabling/enabling result texts from pop ups like parenthood/get famous (we need the randomness back), increase chances for layoffs/rivals (i know the game code is set to such a low chance that you'll rarely get them!), increase dirtiness rates (when was the last time you got a counter dirty???? i swear in sims 2 you'd see the dirt after a few meals, but in ts4 it's a rarity?)

Allows us who enjoy stimulation to engage!

@LunarBritney Adding §2, the concept of time could (should?) also play into such a difficulty setting.

    Short lifespan is HARD MODE.
No auto aging is CREATIVE MODE.

Plus, maybe there should be a configuration for the IRL duration of a Sim-minute. Currently it’s impossible for a starting Sim to have a good night’s sleep, shower and have breakfast before it’s time to go to work. And don’t get me started on Prom duration! Defeating Lady Maria of the Astral Clock Tower in Bloodborne’s DLC was easier than getting gold on a Prom. 🥲
