EP16_Lovestruck - Incorrect PartFlags and Bloat galore!

Product: The Sims 4
Platform: PC
Which language are you playing the game in? English
How often does the bug occur? Always.
What is your current game version number? 1.108.329.1020
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? Lovestruck.
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Wear any of the items displayed* in my attached screenshots or linked Google Folder.
What happens when the bug occurs? Many things, this is PartFlags. Either the incorrect item is worn or the item is missing because it's incorrectly flagged for ROGender instead of ROFrame, or in the case of the hairstyle, it doesn't appear under the hair length filter because it's missing all Hair Tags.
What do you expect to see? Not this. Actually, I expect exactly this after 10 years of getting exactly this.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? None currently. I nuked my TS4 User Folder.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? This is CAS from the Lovestruck DLC under the current game patch.

Cheers!

P.S.: There might be more but I generally only take screenshots with my now abhorrently deformed Male / Feminine Frame sim.

In case you're reading this and wondering why it isn't in Bug Reports, it was posted there but was moved to Game Feedback.

I'm not going to go through Bug Reports to link all of them that are part of this, but here ya go:

UPDATE: 7/29/2024

My CAS Overrides for EP16 are done and so am I. It will be uploaded to at least two places.

I would like to be done with EP16 now, please... xD

I just noticed all of the underwear have the wrong SortLayer. All other underwear go under tights. All other underwear go under the EP16 tights except the EP16 underwear!

Furthermore, the textures for the tights have not been modified for female sims! It's male textures! It rises in the front and drops in the back. Female tights textures are the opposite way, if it's low-waist, they dip in the front and go straight across the back, and if it's high-waist, it's straight all around.

There are many tights for female sims that are using male textures, but why this one? WHY?! I LIKE COLORFUL THINGS! I LIKE FISHNETS! I LIKE COLORFUL FISHNETS! WHY U DO DIS?! <flips table and storms off>

UPDATE: Turns out I was incorrect about the Tights, there are Female and Male textures and Female and Male CAS items, but the items have the WRONG RestrictOpposite flag, which is why I was seeing the Male variant on my sim.

    @jpkarlsen
It's not CC. Those are EP16 CAS items.

They have the modded flag because I've already overridden them with other PartFlag fixes. I fix these things then slap a bow onto them and share them with the community 🎁. I don't just report them.

The underwear in those latest screenshots for instance, both male and female variants were shipped with the wrong Restrict Opposite flag and the male variant was incorrectly flagged for both sexes, which is why there's a big old gap on my sim in the very first screenshot but not in the more recent screenshots. It was the first thing I fixed.

If you have Lovestruck, you can check it yourself. You might need a Male/Feminine Frame sim to experience the gap, but a cisframe Female sim will suffice for the tights and underwear. All other EAxis underwear is worn under tights but the EP16 underwear have the wrong SortLayer so they're worn above the tights.

The only time a non-EP16 CAS item will show up in a screenshot here is if I'm using it to compare, like the fingernails, and it will always be an item from either the Base Game or another content pack.

@SejianOh, I noticed the bug on the underpants because a random Sim was generated with them and looked really weird. I reported it here: https://answers.ea.com/t5/Bug-Reports/LS-Random-female-Sims-using-the-masculine-version-of-the-new/m-p/13908606#M284989

I did not see your thread before and I also don't understand why it would have been moved to feedback since this is clearly a bug. Probably because people often don't get that there's a real problem if your language is too techie...

    @flauschtrud
"I did not see your thread before and I also don't understand why it would have been moved to feedback since this is clearly a bug. Probably because people often don't get that there's a real problem if your language is too techie..."

The Bug Report was moved here within the hour it was posted if I'm not mistaken.

I do have that issue of typing "too techie", however, whether or not other simmers understand it shouldn't dictate where EA or AHQ moves it, because they're supposed to understand what I'm saying, right?

To be fair though, and I'm just musing here so let me have it, even members of the modding community don't understand this because for instance with Restrict Opposite Gender, for a very long time simmers have been told that "bad things will happen if you don't use the ROGender flag" when in fact, bad things happen because the ROGender flag is used incorrectly. ROGender has limited usage and is a big problem for transframe sims (sims with opposite frames) because it forces them to wear the clothing for their sex (gender) instead of their frame, and mismatching sex (gender) and frame clothing causing deformities on sims. Before the pre-patch it was just some crotch deformity and posture and the arm distance from the body so it was "fine". Since the pre-patch, our entire spine deforms horrendously, which is not fine. EA should know this, it's their PartFlag, yet for the past ten years, every content release has been plagued with incorrect ROGender flags. It is the main culprit of "this clothing is making my sim look weird". Bug Reports has numerous Bug Reports like this and every once in a while EAxis fixes ONE or TWO then the next content release is chock-full of more.

"The Bloat" is the other one no one understands because they've convinced themselves that "it's fine if your female / feminine sim has a tiny waist". I could accept that if all the Top and Full Body clothing had the same effect, but that's not the case. EAxis keeps applying something to the mesh configuration or design for certain clothing that makes the clothing look horrendously bloated (fat) on female and feminine frame sims if their waist isn't the tiniest possible. I don't understand why. It's not necessary and serves no purpose. "But baggy clothes" at the expense of all non-hourglass feminine sims looking horrendously bloated? Please EAxis, if you ever read this, I'm begging AGAIN, PLEASE STOP DOING IT. Eventually I'm going to figure it out and I'll fix it myself (I already have a "dirty" fix that limits how much the hotspot sculpt sliders affect the specific clothing item but it's not ideal) and I'll make a very big post with pictures of EVERY item you've done this on. Maybe I'll just screenshot all of EAxis CAS Tops and Full Body and show the difference - "Bloat! No bloat! Bloat! No bloat!" ad infinitum. It can be a fun mini-game for me! Pin the tail on The Bloat!

If you're willing to, link to this thread in your OP, or maybe I'll start linking to myself in comments on other threads of this nature, since I go through the whole content release for my CAS Override mods and usually state what's wrong and how to fix it, or maybe I add links to threads like yours to my OP whenever I see them.

I could, if I wanted to, list every one of the 200+ CAS items that came with Lovestruck and point out what's wrong with each of them and what needs to be done to fix them, because I've done it already, I'm doing it right now, but I don't really see the point if EAxis is just going to ignore it and continue doing it wrong, which is exactly what they've been doing.

The cynic in me thinks this thread was moved because Lovestruck is newly released and having a Bug Report like this that says "MOST OF EP16'S CAS IS A PARTFLAG MESS, JUST LOOK AT MY 61 [AND COUNTING] SCREENSHOTS" with a cover picture that shows a sim with a big gap in their stomach and three additional pictures pointing out very clearly how badly EAxis has deformed transframe sims <takes a breath> ain't good for business, but I won't speculate and I won't hold a grudge about them moving the Bug Report that I clearly put a lot of effort into. Initially I was a bit irritated, but I've calmed down since then, because I know I have an attitude, and I am very critical, and it reflects poorly on the product they're trying to sell, and I understand this.

Well now, that was an essay! xD

Here's yfBottom_EP16UnderwearTrim and ymBottom_EP16UnderwearTrim with correct SortLayers and yfAcc_TightsEP16Fishnet and ymAcc_TightsEP16Fishnet with the incorrect RestrictOppositeGender flags removed.

This is how these items are supposed to show and work and interact with each other. NOT how EAxis shipped them.

My initial outrage from thinking no Female textures were made for the Tights is the reason why incorrect ROGender flags are bad. These items also don't need ROFrame flags because they do not use a mesh, they apply directly onto the sim's body like Makeup and therefore WILL NOT CAUSE DEFORMITIES if the opposite frame item is worn.

My CAS Overrides for EP16 are complete, which means I likely won't be adding any new replies to this thread. Cheers!

Before I go, two more things:

    1. Most, if not all 220 CAS items have no DisplayIndex and no SecondaryDisplayIndex.
    2. Many CAS items are missing their Color tags.

This is probably the worst CAS content release I've seen thus far, though to be fair, I haven't gone through every DLC yet. It's definitely the worst pre-patch I've been present for.

This isn't my first Bug Report of this nature, in this format, with this much detail, but it might be my last. I don't really see the point of doing another one of these. I could be doing something productive with the time it takes to type these things, like trying to undo what you've done to my sim's body.

I am quite disappointed with your handling of the Happy at Home fiasco, I'm disappointed with the state of the game, I'm disappointed that you still can't get your PartFlags right and that you refuse to stop using "The Bloat" on female Top and Full Body items, and I'm very upset that my sim has been horrendously deformed since the 23rd. I'm accustomed to the others but that last one is really pissing me off.

    I'm done. Ciao!

@Sejian I linked back to this thread in my big report!

And although I do mods myself I have absolutely no clue about CAS stuff, lol. But at least I get that there's a problem.

I can understand your feelings. I quite like Lovestruck (at least without the bugs), but the situation with the patches and the wave of bugs frustrated me a lot and I constantly feel stupid that I myself put so much thought and effort in my mods, while the official features are often done without any care.
