I'm so glad to discover this relatively new thread. I hope that many of the great ideas that have been posted can be implemented somehow. Right now, it still feels like there is so much missing from the game.
My most wanted objects are:
-drum sets
-bass guitars
-bunk beds
-pool tables
-pool slides/playground slides
-diving boards- I truly love and miss the chicken out animation from TS2.
-a platform tool, including varying heights so that players can have more creative options with the stairs
-lounge chairs and recliners
-pool bars
-pool fountains
-sleeping bags
-sand pits for toddlers and children
-hopscotch
-toddler pools (supervised by a caretaker, of course)
-Cars -- with working doors, radios, lights, and electric windows (that would be cool :> )
-jump rope/double dutch(!)
-bicycles, tricycles
-strollers for the toddlers
-canes for the seniors that are nearly at the end of their lifespan. A cane would serve as a great cue that a Sim's life is almost over. I would certainly prefer a visual cue to the ubiquitous pop-up messages.
-half-pipe for skateboards/snowboards
I would also love a host of activities that revolve around natural bodies of water:
-sunbathing
-building sandcastles
-digging for clams/shells
-metal detectors
-swimming in natural bodies of water
-scuba diving
-surfing
-boating
-water skiing
-jet skis
More party types:
-baby shower
-engagement ("Show off the ring")
-funerals
-beach
-Come-as-you-are (showering Sims arrive in a bathrobe/towel)
-bachelor/bachelorette
-game night (guests arrive in team jerseys, actually watch the game, occasional react to good/bad plays, and stuff themselves on all types of junk/bar foods.) If the party is held at home, there should be a huge mess to clean up afterward. I mean, everything in the area around the television/kitchen/bathroom should be dirty and/or broken.
I would love more lifelike interactions between Sims
-toddlers/kids should have more activities that aren't dependent on objects -- such as children playing Miss Mary Mack, tag, cops and robbers, etc.
-different greetings between Sims, depending on their family ties and/or level of friendship -- kisses, hugs, and handshakes
-Sims should be able to introduce other Sims. For example, introduce family member, co-worker, girlfriend/boyfriend, fiance/fiancee, etc. Then the Sims could react accordingly with a handshake, a kiss on the cheek, a welcome to the family hug, or even surliness.
-When Sims get engaged, there should be an option to choose a ring from CAS. Also there should be interactions to "Admire the Ring" and "Admire the ring together".
There should be more intimate romantic interactions, in general. Because the interactions that the game has now seem more appropriate for insecure teens in a new relationship. For adults and long-term, mature relationships, there should be:
- cuddling and kissing on the bed before/after woohoo and while sleeping.
- goosing
- play fighting/wrestling
- flirty responses to requests for woohoo (the current response is more absurd than charming)
- slow dancing/first dances
Sims are much too formal and stiff. The game needs more casual animations to set children , teens, and young adults apart from the older Sims, such as:
-sitting on the floor to do homework, to play video games, to speak on the phone, or to watch television
-lounging across the bed to read a book, do homework, or speak on the phone
-hopping up on counters
-sitting on living chairs with their feet tucked up or hugging their knees to their chest
- toddlers, climbing up on dining chairs to reach for things on the dining table.
-genuinely dancing together
Sims need to be more unique:
-more traits
-more traits per Sim
-traits should be paramount, taken into consideration in nearly all interactions/reactions
-traits should inform emotions, not the other way around
-Sims should have likes/dislikes/fears as well as wishes/wants that are based more on traits, rather than universal materialism.
-Sims should have preferences in partners/friends/enemies If a Sim is especially compatible with another Sim, I would love to see wants/fears related to that particular Sim -- friendship as well as romantic. Incompatible Sims should experience anything from subtle shade to straight up fireworks whenever they meet, depending on their level of dislike.
-Sims should remain angry and upset in the moments immediately following an argument or a physical fight. It should take conscious and deliberate actions by the player to heal those kinds of rifts.
-Sims should be attracted to activities according to their traits, instead of being attracted to activities because the lot tells them that they should.
The game needs more NPCs to make it feel more like a functioning, cohesive world:
-Firefighters
-Police that patrol the parks/neighborhoods, befriend the citizens, break up fights, and arrest the criminals. If every park can have a malodorous bum, there should be a police officer to shoo them away from the kids. (On a side note: please stop conscripting the Sims that I created to play the role of said bum!)
-Burglars
-Social workers
-criminal types that sell contraband toasters and game consoles on the corners after dark. These items may or may not work. :p
Every world is nothing but a retake on the same dull concept -- suburban bliss. Even San Myshuno is guilty of this. It looks different from the other towns, but it still plays exactly the same. More variety is needed, STAT:
-farm land that has much fewer walk-bys
-urban streets with graffiti and alleyways for clandestine criminal meetings. (Seriously, we've got kingpins in this game with no appropriately seedy places for them to do their dirt.) For computers that are capable, there should be many, many walk-by Sims in these urban areas, including the toaster salespersons mentioned previously. ;)
-adjoining lots for row houses and store fronts
- lots that allow walls and fences to be built on the lot boundary
-true apartment buildings that are available in all worlds
-functional elevators
-beach side and cliff side lots
-lots that partially protrude into bodies of water
-multi-use lot designations so that bars, cafes, bowling alleys, food stands, etc. will work without any specialized kung-fu required by the player to get them to all function simultaneously. This game is seriously lacking in real estate. Multi-function lots would really help to alleviate the issue.
Finally, for the love of my sanity, please, please, please stop the messages after every. single. screen. capture! By the hundredth time, I think that we all know where our screenshots are being saved. If you can't stop the messages after every picture, at the very least, please try to stop them from spamming and jamming my note board.
Thanks for reading!
