The original request was to stop the animation of the shop icon. Now the bug is fixed, this issue was moved to the Feedback section. IMHO why y'all boycott? You could just ignore the icon, not clicking on it, or use a mod.
EA is a corporation. The mission of any corporation is to make profit. To make profit they need to advertise their product to the custom in various ways. If you don't like the shop icon why can't you just use a mod to completely ignore it? They aren't going to remove it, judging from many previous acts.

Because mods aren't available on consoles. Also, from what I hear, the bug isn't even fixed. At least properly. Also also, literally the first thing that happens when the game launches is products being pushed. Even stuff we already own. Also also also, the button is in a place where it can't be ignored and it might even be pressed accidentally. Also also also also, EA is giving various reasons every day to boycott their stuff, for some this was the final straw.
