I've been playing offline (the advertising/flashing stopped for me while offline which was great) until this weekend when I had to update the game to do the event. Every single time I loaded the screen (build, CAS, switching lots etc), the yellow appeared and of course I clicked on it just to get rid of it, why is there a video now advertising the new pack adventure awaits? Can we go back to the small square box that it was before and not this full page ad?
(Again, I must be out of the loop but when did that happen? Which update changed it to take up the full page and now a video starts playing advertising the new pack? Yes I will be purchasing the new pack on release day - do I need a video advertising it to me, not really). I guess I could deal with it if it only ever did it ONCE in a session at start up but it's constant. The cart button is in an inconvenient spot which I accidentally automatically click on when the yellow appears. I mean I guess the (marketing?) team that put the cart button in that spot did their job correctly because my brain tells me I NEED to click on it, without thinking. Then I get annoyed at myself for doing so when the full page ad appears.
I will never buy the star wars pack. Please, please, please, please stop advertising that pack to me. Surely a way can be designed to stop the ads for this pack that I will not purchase at any point in time? Pretty please with a cherry on top? It just doesn't fit into my gameplay at all, I'm not a "star wars person", the closest I come to seeing this pack is Youtubers randomly going to whatever alien world they go to in it.
As soon as this event ends (because I can't ever get them to complete offline - probably by design that you have to be online to get them to complete) I will go back offline to stop the constant flashing cart icon. However, I feel like I shouldn't have to be offline just to enjoy The Sims 4. So anyway, that's my update, offline I didn't get the flashing yellow cart, back online it's constant again.
