"This cart emblazoned button has many uses ranging from sharing pack offers and sales information to recommending packs you might be interested in. All accessible without leaving the comfort of your Sims’ homes."
Great! Now get rid of it. No one wants this and it's distracting and annoying.

At least make the icon static, it pulses continuously until you click on it, and every time you change households or reload the game, you are forced to click on it to stop the pulsing.EDIT: Okay, the pulsing, I read, you took it off, but you still added that bright golden dot, which is already very annoying on the calendar and social bunny. Personally, if the corporate executives really demand that button at all costs, it must be made static and without bright dots. That being said, it would be much better if it wasn't there at all, because The Sims 4 didn't start out as an f2p online multiplayer game, only in the last year you've decided to make it free to download.

@GiardiniDiMarzo There's a new bug report for the pulsing:
https://answers.ea.com/t5/Bug-Reports/Pulsating-Shopping-Button/m-p/13519671#M271413
In fact, maybe you can create your own in case the OP doesn't come back to fill out the template.Edit: Never mind, the report has 12 Me Toos already.

Get rid of cart! No one likes it

No, it's distracting and unnecessary, Just get rid of it.

How do I turn off the new cart button?
- 12 months ago@Obelisk1234 You can't. ☹️ Hence why I made this thread asking that it be removed. You can show your support for it's removal by saying "Me Too!" on this thread, if you'd like.
- Simfalls12 months agoSeasoned Traveler@Coraychi I had to turn off my game and stop playing 10 minutes after update because it's really tripping my sensory issues so badly. This is such a mis-step. Was there really nobody involved in this idea who considered the fact that it might make gameplay literally uncomfortable for some of us? Or did they just not care?
- 12 months agoIt's super disheartening to hear from people with sensory issues about how this is making it physically hard to play the game. This was 100% a greed-fueled decision, and it's painfully obvious that the Sims Team didn't pay a single thought to the community when making it.
@Wildfireliza It really is ridiculous, because the main menu and the gallery are already in-your-face with the advertisement (main menu goes without saying, but the gallery as well due to the baked in feature of not being able to filter out lots/households that use content you don't own). To shove more ads in our faces, now not even letting us play the game that we've already paid for without being pestered to spend MORE, is over the top greedy.
The shop icon is there and pulses even if you own all the packs too, so it's not even like buying everything can save you lol! - 12 months ago
I was planning on updating this game for the bug fixes until I checked the support forums. Who thought that this was a good idea?
Simmers do not need the PC/console equivalent of an in-game store for in-app purchases in Live Mode.
Just chiming in to say this is a real scummy move...and completely unnecessary! We already, upon login, have to see all the stuff on sale! What was wrong with that? No one wants to stop playing in the middle of their game to buy a pack. And if they did, for some reason, they could just save and go to the main menu to do it! Why add this in live mode? Man hours were spent making a new intrusive cash grab instead of fixing years' old bugs, or making wedding stories functional, or rent actually be paid, landlord events functional, making dine-out a functioning pack (they'll leave that to Carl's Guides/Mods I guess) etc. God forbid bugs get fixed, when the execs can crack the whip and make the devs create a cash-grab button no one wants or likes, and will actively mobilize even the staunchest fans to stop playing... and paying.

Agreed. This feature also broke my mod-free game. Couldn’t even program it correctly.

This new (and very much useless and violently annoying) feature is making TS4 look so cheap, as if it's a pay2win mobile game.
Kill the pulsating shopping cart with fire, we already see the packs and their sales on the main menu. This update really kills my motivation to play the game.
- 12 months ago@Kesseir Also let’s not forget how we already get advertised to in the EA app, and then for horse ranch when the game boots up - which i have to click X on, then be brought to the page telling me what all of the items are, only to press X on it and be brought right back to the ‘Remember me?!’ page to do it again.😭

The shopping cart icon seems to have had the wrong effect on me. It was supposed to entice me into clicking the rude and sensory-unfriendly interruption to my SOLO gameplay, in a game I already OWN, and spend more of my hard-earned money on Sims packs, sucking me further into EA's pockets.
But instead, I seem to have uninstalled the game! Oops! 🙂

Yeah, my entire reaction to this can be summed up as "kill it with fire". It's annoying, intrusive, blatantly greedy, and an active health risk.

Product: The Sims 4
Platform:PC
Which language are you playing the game in? English
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
What is your current game version number? 1.105.297.1030
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? A bunch
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Get rid of the feature
What happens when the bug occurs? It sucks every last ounce of joy out of my soul
What do you expect to see? Not money grabbing slimy marketing tactics IN GAME
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Yes
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Yes
Please describe the patch or change you made. It's literally an added feature to the update
- This new feature is truly an atrocity. It's incredibly inconsiderate to people with mental and physical health conditions. It's also insane to put in the gameplay portion of the Sims. The game literally opens to ads for packs. It doesn't need to also be ever present when playing. That's such a terrible way to treat people who put hundreds to thousands of dollars into a game they love, not a cheap money grab mobile game... It's a huge deterrent and I feel less inclined to buy any new packs or spend as much time in game.

Agree.
We don't want or need that.
Just remove it.
Absolutely agree, no one wants it. All it's going to do is decrease monetary gain from TS4, not increase it.
There's a reason people install adblockers onto everything and why certain sentiments are garnered towards certain types of media, all because people don't like crap being shoved down their throats.
- aSpectrumofDorky12 months agoSeasoned Newcomer@Coraychi As someone who is neurodivergent. This angers me so much. It’s distracting, it agitates my sensory issues, it turns my escapism game into an active reminder that -wait- I did impulsively purchases so many packs that I now own the entire collection.
It’s so predatory towards neurodivergent players the same way mobile games are. - iliekponiez12 months agoSeasoned Ace
