[GTW] Undesired pregnancy by aliens

Product: The Sims 4
Platform:PC
Which language are you playing the game in? Português
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
What is your current game version number? 1.108.349.1020
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? All
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Create a male sim who CAN'T get pregnant or impregnate others... be abducted by aliens, and has a very high chance of being pregnant
What happens when the bug occurs? Abducted SIM will be pregnant.
What do you expect to see? Not be pregnant, NEVER.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Never used.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Neutral/Not Sure

I want to play it without any kids, and I was forced to give birth to this alien parasite. I can't remove it with cheats or anything else... I tried to send it back to its home planet, but it's still in my family tree. Same with social services—I don't want it.

- old save games is not an option

- Edit SIM via debug (shift + click) to remove it is the bare minimum

😠 😠 😠 😠 😠 😠

Without mods, you can still avoid this situation by having a household full (with family, pets or roommates). If there's no place for a new Sim, there won't be any pregnancy.

You can get rid of a family member (the alien baby) by leting it grow old enough (infant stage should do) to use cheats to severe all family ties, like cas.fulleditmode in order to change the relationship between the parent and the child into CAS. This way the child won't appear in your Sim's family tree anymore.

By the way, I think male Sims geting abducted and knocked-up is a reference to old science fiction tv serie (probably Star Trek) where a man gets pregnant by mere touch from an alien. There's no intercourse involved at all, unless you consider pollination to be an intercourse.

  • @thiagodcf I got that, one time, with the new baby update age it up once so you can send it too its home planet, its likely the aliens don't recongize it with the new younger age that they added.

Hey @thiagodcf , this is likely intended and not a bug so I moved your post into the feedback section. However it's a good point, a sim that cannot get pregnant should probably not get pregnant from aliens either.

Since by default only male sims, who by default can't get pregnant, they would have to change the entire abduction system to change it.

  • @EA_CathHi Cath,

Look, with all due respect, if I set "no pregnancy at all" and it still happens, it's a bug.

Even worse, it raises the question of how this differs from something akin to s3xual assault (forced abduction leading to an undesired pregnancy). EA's politically correct team really failed on this, big time.

By the way, I've quit playing The Sims after that incident. It ruined my save, which I had been playing for 607 hours.

If one of you could edit my save to remove that baby from my family tree, I would be very grateful. (Even more so if you could remove that " "feature" " of forced pregnancy - intentionally using double quotes here...)

@amanda-amethyst At least a cheat code to disable that kind of thing would be nice. There are mods made by random people to disable abductions and remove pregnancy (paid ones), so it probably isn’t that hard to code by the EA devs.

Unfortunately, the abdution and pregancy by aliens is a feature. It is a longstanding feature of that occult that has been happening since the Sims 2 game. Sorry it doesn't fit your gameplay style. If you play on PC, there are mods that can eliminate that feature, but it will always be a possible outcome in an unmooded game. The actitivies that trigger it have to do with the scientist career or simply gazing at the stars via the telescope. The fix they offered was to send the child back to the alien world, while they still appear in the family pannel, the child does not exist anymore.

Here's what I found on tvtropes.org page "Bizarre Alien Reproduction":

Xyrillian females can impregnate human males without the human noticing. The one time this happened in the show she hadn't been aware this was possible. They technically reproduce asexually; the "male" Xyrillians don't contribute any DNA to the process, they just carry the female's child.

In the case of The Sims, there's clearly an agenda from Aliens to pollinate humans.

I mentioned earlier that you could prevent pregnancies by having a full household. You can also stop alien abductions from happening in the first place by using a Satellite Dish. Perhaps you could even build a store that sells this object, so non-scientist Sims could use it too.

I'm sure the General Buzz Grunt would approve.
