Horses respect and ignore debug fences at will
I’m using debug fences pretty often, especially on lots where I also have horses. To my surprise, the same horses often wander outside their fences. I didn’t understand how they were getting out at first. They run alongside the fences, stop at fences, outright refuse to leave their fenced-off space, and I even locked all doors to their enclosure... But they still get out.
Those are the fences I’m using. The fence in the lower part of the picture is where one of the horses just ran out after making a tight turn inside the enclosure. Because there wasn’t enough room, it simply ran through the fence as if it wasn’t there, making half a turn back into the enclosure.
In the same session, I saw one horse standing at the small gate where the black horse is standing in the picture above. One of the other horses ran around it and should have hit the fence. Instead, it made a full circle around the horse, ran through the fence, turned around, ran back through the fence, and continued its zoomies run towards the lower-right corner of the enclosure.
And just now, literally as I’m writing this, I’m watching another horse casually walk backwards out of the enclosure through the fence and then casually walk back in.
I get that these are debug items, and most of them work perfectly fine as fences. They are also used as fences in the pre-built world, where Sims and horses recognize them as barriers. So I don’t think it’s unreasonable to expect them to behave the same way when players use them to build their own enclosures. The interaction between these objects and horses currently seems not quite “by design.”
