It has totally killed the enjoyment of the game. It used to be a safe space to play and now there are continual pop-ups and interruptions while playing. I hate it. I wish I could opt out for a nice quiet experience. It sucks now. I refuse to update app any further.

The current event isn't really intrusive. You can finish all the tasks within about 5 minutes or ignore it completely.
I love the events even though the last one didn't work for me. That's the thing with playing a game with such a large player base, everything isn't going to please every person. For example, I don't play with occults. I could get frustrated when occult packs come out but I don't, I just remind myself that not everything is for me.
