I miss the colour wheel/custom design thing from Sims3 (no mods)

I really wish the Sims 4 had that little colour wheel/custom design thing that Sims 3 had. Specifically for building...

I get so discouraged trying to decorate my kitchens and bedrooms because of the lack cohesion with the colours! Just when I find a counter I love, I have a hard time finding a matching cabinet that I like. When I pick out beds for my sims, sometimes I really like the bedspread on a certain bed, but want the frame colour of another swatch. I miss being able to pick any wood/frame swatch and bedspread. I miss being able to customize things!!

I don't understand why this was not incorporated into the Sims 4? Was it eliminated to make the game run better or something? Why didn't they include an option to be able to pick bedspreads and frames separately? I just don't understand it! And I don't play with mods at all (I'm really bad with figuring all that out) so I really wish they would just add this in an update.
