If you do a Grim Reaper/Funeral Pack - Cemeteries, Poison Garden, Grim Call-backs, Ghosts & Zombies

Note - I'm a firm believer in cross-pack integration and functionality. If a new pack can have some features that unlock things for a previous pack and it improves or freshens the experience that give the other pack a bit more longevity, then it's worth doing. But what do I know I've only been in sales and marketing for 15 years. This should be a pack that is respectful since it deals with death a difficult subject for some people. However it absolutely must be creepy and atmospheric and detailed. This is also an obvious opportunity to Update Occults/Supernatural aspects as well. 

If they are doing something with the Grim Reaper they probably have it already figured out about what powers you would have if you are playing as him. This is more a list to complement a pack that would deal with the Grim Reaper, death and related subjects. It also gives me another opportunity to suggests things I've always wanted in game. For what its worth here is what I would like to see.

The Grim Reaper - Small Details

  • Bonehilda still has a crush on the Grim Reaper
  • Grim Reaper will again do the ding-d*o*n*g ditch prank from Sims 2 at midnight on Halloween (Spooky Day) if you have 4 Jack O'Lanterns out within 4 tiles of your front door
  • If you have Spooky Day cookies sitting out at Midnight there will be a chance that Grim will show up and take one and raid the nectar supply, which will in turn leave puddle as he is a skeleton
  • Grim Reaper will allow a Sim Ghost to play chess against him and if they win Grim will resurrect the ghost. This references Ingmar Bergman's The Seventh Seal starring Max Von Sydow.
  • The Grim Reaper is cordial but resents Vampires because they are creatures that have cheated Death i.e. Grim
  • The Grim Reaper feels sorry for Zombies but doesn't resent them because it already reaped their soul when they passed away
  • Grim isn't evil they just look that way. They're actual an angel really…an angel of death.
  • Grim only shows their angel wings when they're really furious


New Additions to Ambiance

  • Bells in the belfry will toll at Midnight, 6AM, Noon and 6PM. Sunday mornings they will play a familiar tune.

  • Changing Flame Colors for Bonfires, Fireplaces, Fire Pits, Torches and Candles
     
  • Gates will get a new Upgrade - Creaking Gate, Lubricated Gate. So we can have a bit of ambiance noise for scary places.

  • Grandfather Clock Update - I absolutely think we need more sound ambiance in game. Especially with anything spooky as it sets the mood.

    • Update sinks to have a Set as Kitchen Sink, Set as Bathroom Sink
    • Set Front Door Interactions

      • Sims will enter & exit through the front door when exiting or entering from other lots. Back doors will still be what they use to go out into the backyard
      • Allows for the selection of a wreath for Holiday Decorations if you have Seasons

      • Forgotten Hollow will be Updated to include a cemetery if this pack is purchased. I suggest the bend in the road before Straud Manor, Vlad's home.
      • The Willow Creek cemetery should be placed on the street across from the Jazz bar and gymnasium. The cemetery should be made like the above ground ones in New Orleans. It should have a slight Baron Samedi/voodoo flavor about it
      • Updates to Sulani & Mt. Komerabi to have a cemetery lot placed and appropriate looking graves for the area
      • All cemeteries will have an entrance to a Catacombs which is a rabbit hole for exploration like in Sims 3
      • Cemeteries after dark will originate the Zombie Hordes. No Cemetery, no Zombies.
      • If you own Seasons Zombies will appear more frequently in the Fall
      • Cemeteries will also be a very scary places to all but the very brave, Vampires, Werewolves & Zombies
      • Grave Interactions 
        • Grave Tending - can be cleaned and weeds pulled
        • Historically minded Sims can do rubbings of the grave. Like they do in really old cemeteries around Boston
        • Knock - Let's Play Wake the Dead

    • Any Ghost Spectrology Skill Books will look a little like the Hand Book for the Recently Deceased 
    • Possession should be a ghost power - I mean technically they already have it when they jump into objects
    • Messing with their grave will anger a ghost
    • Leaving Flowers or trinkets at the grave will please them
    • Bring Back the "Cause of Death" Colors make this a CAS choice as well
    • Evil Sims will not only be a particular color but they will have chains attached to their wrists and around their neck. The penance they pay for the evil chains they forged in life. You will hear chains rattle in addition to whatever death affects their ghost form
    • Ghosts will enjoy playing the pipe organ
    • Well…The Grim Reaper but he isn't really new. Since I'm sure if you already have a plan in mind for him I'll leave him for you all to deal with
    • Ghosts that were silly in life will place Jack O'lanterns on their heads if there are any available

    I would adore ALL of this being added to the game!

    At the very least: HULA ZOMBIES. That was SO awesome in the Sims 2!  🌴

      Well to be honest I feel that ever since Sims 4 they really have held back on content enough to make almost every pack feel a bit unsatisfying. Like there were obvious missed opportunities. So yeah depending on what level this pack concept was made into it would likely have less than what would be fairly expected. 

      I have given it a lot of thought and what I came up with is that no matter what the concept of any pack was, if they made a pack that had more stuff than a Game Pack but less than an Expansion, and they charged slightly more for the Game Pack but the concept was thorough and play testing was good, I doubt the fans would be too upset about a subtle price variance if they felt they got their money's worth. Same would go for a concept that was bigger than a Stuff Pack but less than a Game Pack. It won't be true for all fans who are never satisfied though. Also EA never got the memo on under promising and over delivering. 

      I think how you would tell if you got your monies worth is that when you play it through and you think to yourself what would you have added, or how would you have done to make it better and you couldn't think of anything substantial. That's how you'd know you got you monies worth. Especially if the play through was clean and with no real game glitches.

    • The poison garden would be lovely. Would be nice if we had harvestable poppies too. We could make poppy seed rolls or cake and tea for pain or sleep. And they could add some toxic mushrooms. And stinging nettles. If it's going to be a poison garden we need more variety.

    I'd love a grim reaper career, going different lots and reaping the souls of sims, or choosing to spare them, finally get a better grim reaper outfit then the muddy textured base game one, I think it would be a lot of fun, a return of zombie sims would be a cool new occult type, there's a lot to play with here.

    We sort of have that with the Paranormal Investigator which is why I did not mention them for this pack but if you could be so kind as to list what you'd like to see in the Ghost Hunter Career that would be different I will add it to my post.
