My Sims (the ones skilled in thanatology) are autonomously speaking a dead language to each other (several times in a row, and obsessively at this point), even though they are maxed on the skill; they never get it right (anymore), so their relationships are deteriorating rapidly (especially when they use the interaction several times in one conversation). It also often gives negative sentiments when they speak it to ghosts.
It would be great if it weren't an autonomous interaction; keep it as an option in the interest section, but the player chooses it from the pie menu themselves. Also, why, with so many other interests they could discuss, do they always choose to speak a dead language? 🤪
Because whomever has been in charge of tuning and autonomy doesn't understand what it's actually supposed to mean. It's a fail safe, not a game state. But they have the sims tuned to hop to the next action and NEVER idle for even a few seconds so it can be difficult for the player to actually lead their own game play. Or the opposite end of the spectrum so that the sim will drown in their own urine while starving to death before autonomy takes over. They think telling people to "turn off autonomy" is the answer, when it just creates other problems. This is the same team that thinks sims eating all of the servings of a group meal one after another despite having a full food meter and not being a glutton sims is "functioning as intended." I think it's hard to get things right when the team has obviously never played the game, nor tests it after "fixes."
