Mirror mode missing?

I paid the $40 for this pack assuming that the paint mode would at least have the features available in the pet one? Looking at the new tattoo designs as well as the tutorial screenshots and seeing half a dozen mirrored tattoos, I really thought this would be an obvious feature... Am I missing something? Almost every single design I wanted to make has intricate mirrored elements that would take hours to do by hand. 

The only reason I can think of is "immersion," but that makes NO sense because there aren't brushes and erasers like these for real life tattoo artists either. Why take out a feature that was in the pets paint mode? Do I need to be higher level or something?
