New Lifestages Preteen and Middle Aged.

  1. So this suggestion can go with Sims 4 and Sims 5 I would love a preteen life stage I been thinking about a preteen life stage since Sims 2 days it's like to me how the Brady bunch is like there's Cindy and Bobby and Marcia and Greg but missing Jan and Peter. Or Boy Meets World started as Preteens I believe. Shows back then acknowledged Preteens yet Preteens/ Middle School ages now don't exist? A preteen should have more mood swings then a teen in game, they will care more about appearance the a kid would, they will still play void critters, probably would like to hang out on the playground and treehouse or buy a bench. Would like to be hanging out with friends then around parents. Voice Cracks, training bra, they can also have crushes but don't do what teens do. They can cook in Microwave, or level 3 cooking. Play basketball, be in hot tub, basically do stuff the kids can't do. "Borrow" older siblings stuff, talk back to parents more then any other life stage. Stomp around, slam doors, counters, fridge especially they don't get they way so parents will need have they parenting skills on point with Preteens.
  2. Middle Aged Sims A lifestage after adult I just thought of this since the elders can't really do much without being over stimulated, Middle Aged Sims can retire early if you choose to, they can go on vacations be a cougar or sugar daddy. The chances of having kids or getting some one pregnant is lower. They can take care of their elderly parents. Be the fun grandparents to they grandkids they would also have a mid life crisis. Introduce senior discounts to the game so on certain senior get a discount on food, drink and other things.
  3. Anymore ideas???

  • I love all of the ideas

An another that should be added is having an another life stage (and last stage) is senior sim who will function like infants

Some people in real life get dementia, it makes it even more realistic to have it in the game, senior people can do lesser and lesser over times, only lays in bed, not knowing which room to go because they have forgotten, bladder getting low real quick, having a difficult time to eat food, they will use toddler stuff, the skills they used to had will dissapear, can't walk or talk for any longer (when people are very old, they become smaller and smaller too)

It's a crazy idea i know but i hope they add that last stage in the game

It will be just like infants but more like a reversed version of it

Awhile back i came up with something else, more activities to do for kids, having an active elementary school, after school activities, library for little kids, more playground, more and better interraction for little kids, more aspirations, having their own hairstyle other ages don't have, more clothes options,

i even want more skill options, some that teens and older life stages has but also newer ones that might not exist just yet

@sailorleontine I personally don't want an active elementary school the high school was so buggy and limited I would like more activities like how it works in sims 3 with field trips, instead of doing just the home work kids can work on the skills to also improve the grades like swimming, reading a book and do a book report, draw a picture, play an instrument, I know they gave us school projects but I want kids and all to do projects like in DU like first do research on the computer then have a poster board dazzle it up and present it to the class. I want Teens to study for a college test if they plan on going to DU like the high school can help the teen to get into Ubrite or Foxbury easily. Same thing with Preteens like has field trips and other activities besides the basic homework.
The last stages of life does sound good but they may add it to elders like I want an elders pack so bad with canes, walkers, dentures, eyeglasses. the mobility scooter.

@sailorleontine Having had a parent go through Vascular Dementia the last few years of her life, trust me, it's not fun, it's heart breaking. I'd rather nothing like that be in the game.

sure dementia is everything except good, dementia is only getting worse once someone is diagnosed with dementia

my mom used to work with dementia elder people, each is in different form, the most known is alzheimer

maybe it can be optional in settings for elder sims but for more realism i thought it doesn't hurt to add them in The Sims 4
that's why i shared my ideas for more realistic gameplay based on elder sims

i'm in for each ideas and i admit they could've done better, high school years is so boring after a bit and quite buggy, i hope they can fix that
i love Copperdale but the school itself is a meh one, rather boring and buggy but i do hope they manage to not make elementary school so buggy

  • No, no and once again no! The creators are already ignoring the lifestages we already have in the game! Just look how many things teens and younger Sims got in Lovestruck. Yeah, one can argue that pack was for YA's romance, but they still could add at least some outfits to kids, toddlers and infants, if nothing else. All we got are some hairstyles for kids. Pretty cool hairstyles, I admit that, but in € 40 DLC I still expect more for my money for the lifestages we already have in the game. Why adding new lifestages if those we already have, not counting YA and adults, are already underutilised and even outright ignored by the creators a lot of time? Think about it. Is it good to have new lifestages that will, ultimately, be ignored just like the ones we already have? I don't think so.

  • I imagine that we'd only get them with a pack related to it since, like Growing Together with infants. I've thought about an Elementary School Pack but with the problems you listed is better to avoid it. My second idea is a Childhood Stories Pack that could explore many things from newborns to preteens. I'd like to see a Daycare lot, imaginary friends, summer camps, field trips, and many more things to do with the younger life stages that were missing on older packs. I don't really mind if preteens will have a small CAS i just need a slower transition between kids and teens, like look at that onlyabidoang's short video about kid's birthday party

Yeah, I understand this, because teens in Sims 4 doesn't even feel like teens. But I don't think the solution for this weird transition is adding new lifestage to be monetised at first and then be forgotten, like it happened with infants. The solution should be to push on creators to make teens feel like teens. Besides, this is overall problem with Sims 4 that lifestages feels older than they should and did in Sims 2 and 3. Infants are more like toddlers with some infant features, toddlers are preschoolers with some features of toddlers and even kids look (but sadly don't behave) older than they were in previous games. Though they still did allow kids to do things they weren't allowed in previous games, like horse riding, or using hot tubs, but they also can't do some things they could in previous games, like painting or writing (though, admittedly, the latter was pretty weird that kids could do in Sims 3). But yes, teens got this the hard way. But is new lifestage really a way to fix this? I am not persuaded.

That's the thing I don't want a slow transition and as far as the teens look from previous games it really doesn't bother me at all. Like I said in the previous post I wanted a preteen lifestage way back when Sims 2 was around because it's a lifestage a crucial one at that it's a lifestage where they're no longer a kid but not yet a teen and they're changing so moods will change possibly daily. I did see that short on YouTube and just laughed because the edit on the kids faces like "um what happened to you?"

Lovestruck is centered around YA and Up so yes of course Teens and younger were not being the main focus point in this pack but I think could of gotten like a heart shaped like earrings, necklace, bracelet, a shirt with hearts on it or a dress with flowers or roses on it those flower pink shoes that would've been cool but a lot of people asked for a Romance Pack myself included so I'm good with this pack.

Yes other Lifestages do feel neglected it's like the Sims 4 developer likes to cater to YA especially at the beginning of Sims 4 it was an atrocious time to be around. However it's not like we're not asking Gurus to give us a pack centered around Elders like I want an elders pack with a senior citizen place not like a retirement home but a place where seniors can hang out, go on trips, get food. I would also want a senior living which I already did senior living community apartments.

I like to also ask the gurus for more kids like more playground varieties like a regular playground theme, a castle theme, jungle theme and etc.

I'll be honest I didn't want a high school pack I wanted an education pack to effect both kids and teens and to introduce Preteens for middle school it would've been like seasons no new world but added a lot of game play like toddlers would of had daycare/preschool the parents take them to school and pick up it would be a rabbit hole but they will have skills going up. An active daycare like in Sims 3 you won't get to play as a toddler but as a daycare teacher. Kids/ Elementary instead of kids just doing regular homework we get them active and build up skills like go swim, play an instrument, do research on frogs but you have to find frogs to do research or ask a parent or other to help. Feild trips like in Sims 3. Have crazy days like the Calendar have holidays the kids could've have crazy days like crazy hair day, hat day, wear a color day, my favorite pajamas day, costume day not associated with Halloween just wear a costume and be a bear day.

Middle School Preteens introduced so again instead of just the homework Preteens can do a little more than the kids like cook something to develop a cooking skill, play basketball, Volunteer somewhere, Feild trips. Dances like Winter and Spring Dance or name optional not like prom but a dance to have fun and hang out with friends it's like right after schools so like 4-8 on a Friday so it won't run into Prom and it's not every Saturday it's just comes around during Winter and Spring.

Teens Highschool I do like certain with hey like prom idea, sneaking out cheerleading. What I don't like is there's no in class game play I'm never going to get over that I'm sorry. Prom every Saturday no they've should've picked a Day on the Calendar and said prom maybe for each season. I think the reason why they did Prom every Saturday because they knew how limited HSY really is for an expansion pack. I wanted teens to get ready for either life or college if they wanted college have teens to develop skills for a scholarship. Even get a full scholarship. Or if they drop out give them gameplay for dropping out. Have like an actual teen hang out, I wanted group studies like they do in Sims 3. Have an actual game like in DU that's another thing I can not get over where have you seen a football throwing competition??? I would much rather have a rabbit hole football game.

  • This would be a good idea, if not for the trouble it would surely bring about.

If the developers could get a handle on the many, persistent bugs that already plague previously introduced life stages, I'd be totally down for this idea. But the truth is that toddlers are still glitchy AF (and they were released 8 bloody years ago), infants are even more glitchy (and basically pointless) ... So I can't foresee good outcomes with the introduction of additional stages.
