Not just my sims dislike their phones

I do, too.  I was excited that there was announced to be a fix for unwanted phone use, and that if I selected that as a dislike, my sims would never use the phones autonomously. Great!

OR IS IT?

Why are they still doing this as an idle animation?

Yes, Laurel is a Teen. I still don't want to see it. And Keenan is an Elder:

What the proverbial hay? What good is the fix if it doesn't end this, which I never want to see, but least of all while they are trying to be a.) royal or b.) magical?

Guess I am back to shopping for a mod to fix the problems Maxis can't or won't.

I wish my artistic sims could use a notebook or sketchpad for writing and drawing... but I also write, and am used to a word processor since, like, the 80s.

Archaic methods would be must have, in an historically-set save, but I play present day. And I don't mind getting some mods or CC.

I am specifically annoyed because and advertized "fix" left this annoyance unresolved, and I am even a little snarky about it.

  • I too am still waiting for the day that my sims can finally NOT be some unlikeable jerks who have to keep checking their phone all the time.

I hate that behaviour in real life, people who just can't stop doing that. Why where those animations ever even added, in a game that is so sparse on animated actions compared to previous Sims games? Especially sims 2 had way more animations, and that all went downhill since sims 3.

A typewriter, book or scroll doesn't appeal to you as an option for writing? To me, I think it be a game change alternative for those who want a mobile/computerless gameplay.

  • I don't mind using the computer - my sims are often writers, and I love making dens, studies, and little computer nooks. But this wasn't even responding to a pop-up call. It was just doing nothing else, so let's look at the phone. Can we please not?

  • Yep, so annoying. I rather have a global toggle to stop all phone actions/interactions/idles/etc. (including calls/text pop ups!) And replacement options for both the Mobile Phone and Computer for career tasks/aspirations/missions/etc. that some how revolve around using your phone and a computer...
