I use the Beloved Trait to stop relationships from declining and being forgotten. I add it with a cheat now as it got quite frustrating.
That's testingcheats true, followed by traits.equip_trait trait_Legendary and that stops relationship decline.
Note that if playing on console, using testingcheats true will disable console achievements/trophies for that save.
Sad that we have to use cheats to fix what EA won't.
On the point of relationships, is it odd that members of a newly created Sim family need to introduce themselves to each other? I would think, by the time you reached school age you would already know your parents, brothers, and sisters...but maybe my family was just weird because we knew one another. And why do parents have to have someone introduce them to their newborns...? This kind of stupidity in design is one of the reasons I build my households at Child age and up.
