I think you can avoid burnout by turning off Lifestyles in the Game Options. Of course, that means you'll also have to give up the things you might like about Lifestyles, so it's not a simple decision. I haven't seen anyone else mention this, so I thought I should toss it in, just in case it helps someone.

You're probably right, and I'm probably wrong. I thought burnout was caused by the Workaholic lifestyle, but I turned off lifestyles a long time ago. I don't have Growing Together, so I don't know what comes with that pack.

@Sketch793 and @GiardiniDiMarzo Burnout does indeed arrive with Growing Together, there should be a little Sim health warning on the pack!
I turned off Lifestyles a while ago because of too many negative moodlets so I don't know if there is a similar thing to Burnout with Lifestyles as well. I just know as soon as I added them my Sims were miserable until I toggled them off.
I hope the next Expansion Pack has a whole load of new happy moodlets and no more negative ones that we can't get rid of 😭. Let's have some lovely positive ones instead, it makes it such a frustrating and annoying experience dealing with suffering Sims trudging around whimpering to themselves or looking dazed.

I was going to get Growing Together until I found out about the burnout. It would be nice to have a toggle button

As I know burnout happen less often with the lifestyle Workaholic. I turned too Lifestyles off and only tried it for the family fortune scenario, still annoying as I remember (so you not alone with this mindset simsplayer). Generally, we should not need a feature from another DLC to make burnout less annoying. This is just wrong. Give them player an option to play without this feature or to remove it instantly.
I think the team always forget we have a reward store, simply add a Potion which remove burnout/fog instantly or add a trait which make the sim immune to burnout. So, no need to remove or nerving a feature to dead and all parties are happy.

@daikoyuYou're absolutely right, a reward potion would be great and we have them for so many other things it makes sense to have one for Burnout.
Or at least make the Moodlet Solver work for Burnout because I was so disappointed when it made no difference at all.Edit: Even the Outdoor Retreat herbal remedies don't help. I was certain I'd had a brilliant idea and tried the Clear Mind Distillation (I think that's it's name) after it worked following a rocket ship crash landing on my dazed Sim...but it does not work for Burnout.
