when and how soon can we expect a box to tick to stop autonomous cell phone use? cell phone addiction is real and not something to be proud of or emulate in video games, so how about ea get with reality and let us make our sims better than they are now by ending their addiction to cell phones. thanks ahead of time for listening and going that extra mile that ea is known for in helping their customers have an excellent experience playing their games!

It is a pain but pretty funny at times. A werewolf raging and running on all fours but still managing to use their phone is a sight to behold. Ha ha ha!

I don't think it's funny. Over 3000 people die each year in America from distracted driving involving cell phone use. I don't think it's funny at all.

I think it would be a good idea. I'm not discounting your post. Sorry you don't think a werewolf raging and using their phone in the game is funny. I really would hate to see that in real life! By the way I had clicked me too!
@djriddle1977 Yes! I hate seeing sims constantly looking at their phones just like I hate seeing people IRL constantly looking at their phones. ;-) An option to prevent it in the game would be wonderful.

I suppose the reason I don't think it's funny is not the actual thing you describe (which is so ridiculous, that yes, it's funny) but rather, I wonder about the mindset and reasoning behind the team that forces the werewolf to still be addicted to their phone, no matter what. mermaids use them underwater, apparently too!
What I don't get is why the community, who really does want this, is ignored on this subject and that previous mods that have removed this behavior have been rendered useless by updates, leading me to assume that ea REALLY wants to show cell phone addiction as something that is 'normal' when it is not.
It is an unhealthy, addictive behavior that should not be normalized.
I know a couple that were married for over twenty years that ended because one of the spouses got hooked on social media and could not stop and basically dropped out of their life, ignoring their spouse and children in favor of sitting in front of the computer and/or playing with their phone most of their waking hours.
I don't want my sims to be like that, period. And I am absolutely sure that other people feel the same way because I have seen the posts here on this forum.
Please help me make this request of ea as a group, if you would, by helping me keep this post on the board so ea cannot ignore it, like they have so many others who have asked for the same thing. It would be amazing to see something that the community is asking for actually happen, and I believe that it can be done - assuming ea listens and cares about their customers, of course.
@djriddle1977 I agree with you. Sims constantly checking their mobile phones can get annoying. What annoys me also, is teen sims doing their homework takes time out for a second flex and takes a selfie! I can't help myself and I say out loud, "All right, just get on with your homework!"

One of the most troubling indicators of the disconnect between ea and its customers is the 'technophobe' trait which literally has a picture of a cellphone and a circle and slash over it, because even with this trait picked (which one would think makes the sim not want to use cell phones) there is no apparent effect on cell phone addiction what so ever.
What does ea think their symbol for technophobe means? I mean, they made it and it's a 'no cellphone' symbol, the likes of which are displayed at libraries and movie theatres and any place where using a cell phone is not permitted, but for ea, I guess it means nothing, as does, it would seem, the wants and desires of their customers on the subject.
Just how disorganized and out of touch is/are the program team(s) at ea that they don't even know they put a 'no cell phone' trait in the game that literally does nothing to stop cell phone use?!
This is troubling to me in ways that I find impossible to articulate.
Who's in charge at ea that could actually do something about this broken part of the game, and why aren't they doing anything?
This is just bizarre.
I may have an answer to this one, @djriddle1977. Maybe the person in charge can't stop checking their phone...
